Fonda de Paula — Restaurant in Downers Grove

We had a fantastic dinner at Fonda de Paula in DG. From the service, to the good vibes, to the food and the attentive management.. it was 100% worth the visit. We had the fajitas (shrimp and steak combo) which smelled AND tasted fan-tastic. And we also tried a few of the specialty tacos which were some of the tastiest tacos we've ever had. Plus, the table side guac service was a super nice touch. All the servers were super friendly and helpful explaining the menu. And I'd like to give a shout out and thank you specifically to Yadi, Camila and the manager Maria (from Mago) who was there tonite. They were all so sweet, so welcoming and everything about our experience...

GREAT food, EXCEPTIONAL service!!! My family had dinner here last night and it was amazing. The food was SO good. We had steak tacos and chicken enchiladas. Everything was delicious, especially the table side Guac that the waitress made at our table. The only thing better than the food was the staff. They were so warm, welcoming and accommodating. The environment was lively, but not chaotic, and family friendly (our toddler fit right in). The drinks were great! I wish I had space for dessert, but I got so full on the chips/dip and entree! We don’t like in DG, but anytime we are in the area, we will be back (and we’d welcome you to Orland if you want...

Outstanding. I really like everything about this restaurant. We have been to its sister restaurant Mago many times and if you have not been to Mago you should also check out Mago. The table side guacamole was excellent. The service was excellent and attentive. The enchilada mole with chicken tinga was very good, as was the costilla taco.
