Five Guys — Restaurant in Downey

Convenient and busy location. Straightforward menu of burgers and fries plus hot dogs! I always vacillate when it comes to choosing and end up getting a burger anyway. The little burger combo with a little side of fries is a lot of food. My mom and I usually split one but she devoured her little cheeseburger all on her own. She had all the condiments without onions. I got a little hamburger "all the way" but forgot they use a lot of ketchup. The fries are nicely done and is really enough to share, I asked for less salt on it. However, the crew left out the shake and I had to ask for it. Then, sadly I was disappointed by the flavor of the strawberry shake, it seemed to taste so medicinal to soapy, although there was a lot of chopped fruit in it; It might have been exposed or contaminated by whatever cleaning solution used on the prep surfaces. This five guys is not top notch like it used to be. Five guys used be a place where I can get some premium burgers but after today I'm convinced it's gone downhill. I went in for a LITTLE cheeseburger all the way but replaced the mushrooms w jalapeños and little fries (my usual order). The cashier charged me the regular cheeseburger with two patties which costs more, I noticed immediately and demanded a refund for the extra charge. Then, the burger was DRENCHED in mayonnaise leaving it soggy and tasting really bland. And the fries seemed undercooked, oily, no seasoning and also soggy. I've had way better burgers at mom n pop burger joints which disappoints me for having bought this overhyped overcharged burger. Not worth my hard earned money at all. This terrible experience has left me deciding to never come to this five guys or any other establishment ever again. I will take my business and money to people that actually put love into making food. Five Guys has lost me as one of their long time...

Too pricey for below average food. Went there again today to give it a second try to see if they got better cooks or something. First time I went the fries were way too salty, the burger was bland and even the soda machine gave out dirty soda that I did not finish. That was maybe over a year ago. Today the fries I will say definitely taste a lot better they were well seasoned and they put plenty in my bag so I enjoyed them. However the burger still was not good at all the bacon tasted like it was microwaved they still don't know how to grill onions which was an issue the first time, everything about the burger is disappointing. The soda machine seems fixed it tasted better this time, but overall it is just way too pricey for me to eat here when I can easily go to Burger King and get everything better for...
