Possibly one of the worst breakfast services I have ever experienced. Food : Our pancakes were warm at best. Eggs and bacon were cold. The toast on my avocado toast was soggy and my egg was over cooked. The side of fruit was warm. ( Im assuming because it sat in the food warmer for so long) Crab Cakes Benedict, my eggs were basically hard boiled and the Hollandaise sauce tasted like something out of those pre made dry powder packets ( sour, no flavor) . The crab cakes themselves were mid. The best thing I can say about the dish is that it was relatively warm when it arrived to my table.
Service : We were seated immediately, so that I can appreciate. However, we waited 40 minutes to get served and watched as two tables who arrived a significant time after us get served before us . One of these tables even got to order dessert. After we ordered food nobody checked up on us. A curtesy check up would have been appreciated if the servers knew that kitchen was so "backed up" . I can understand if the kitchen was busy then the long wait time would have been okay. However our food wasn't hot , I see no justification for the long wait. I've worked in the restaurant industry for 10 years so I try to be understanding when I go to restaurants but this place does not get my empathy. I can tell my food was made on time, but it just sat in kitchen table for a while.
I was visiting the LA area for the weekend and this restaurant left a bad taste in my mouth. To my Bay Area people, LA has a-lot of great food options and this place isn't one of them. You'll find better food quality and...
Read moreThis restaurant pretends to be a upscale casual dining establishment but their food quality and service says otherwise.
First of all, the workers are COMPLETELY overworked and understaffed, which leads to very poor customer service and long wait times due to the lack of adequate employees on staff at one time.
We waited for a long time before our Server even approached our table since she was all by herself. She was nice but you can clearly tell that her mind was focused more on the other tables and what was going on with them at the time. She barely made us a priority and focused more on other matters before helping us.
Now for the food and drinks..... I ordered the house Chardonnay which states it's from France, so I expect a fresh and quality wine..... the wine tasted like someone opened up the bottle and never put the lid back on... completely flat and void of flavor.
Our food arrives after 30 minutes after ordering, I ordered the Chicken Crusted Parmesan with linguine..... FROZEN CHICKEN PATTY COVERED WITH 90% BREADING and marina sauce lacked ANY consistency and flavor.... probably the most bland and low quality Chicken Parm I've ever had in my life.
For 20 bucks, I expect for my meal to NOT BE FROZEN and for the Chicken Parmesan to be more Chicken then BREADING..
This place IS NOT a fine dining establishment but yet they charge you for fine dining prices. Scam.
Overall, a very disappointing and deceptive dining experience. You expect a very organic, fresh and delicious France Bistro.... and receive Denny quality food and flavors. 2/10 would...
Read moreI met up with some extended relatives for lunch at Mimi's. I saw the menu online and looked forward to having a meal there.
The food itself was fine. I ordered the French pot roast, which is beef Bourguignon. It tasted great and was of a satisfying portion. I also tried the artichoke and spinach dip, which was good but nothing to write home about.
I have no complaints about the food, but these service was a bit lacking. Two people at our table ordered soup as an appetizer, but it never arrived. When our food was brought out, we reminded the server about the soup, and she said she'd get it, but never came back. We were given the check without being asked if we wanted desert, or even if we were finished. This behavior, while not the greatest, would be understandable if they were super busy, but out group choose a late lunch to avoid the lunchtime rush.
This place has something of a reputation for it's muffins, so we also ordered muffins on the way out. Pro-tip: Mimi's has a promotion where you can text a number to join their loyalty program, and as a reward get two free muffins. Make sure to find the posters and do that, to get free muffins. I tried bites of the blueberry and buttermilk honey. They were perfectly good muffins. Not amazing, but not bad. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy muffins from here, but I also wouldn't consider the...
