Sam’s is where you want to go if you want the best classic. It reminds of another Sam, The Garden Village in West Pittston. I can’t describe it. Nostalgia? Perfect amount of meat and cheese, fresh peppers , lettuce, tomato, and onion. Major thing is the roll. The roll makes or breaks a hoagie, here it shines like the rest. My advice, get the hot and sweet peppers on the side, same with the oil and vinegar. Don’t let someone else’s over/under abundance of condiments dictate the greatness of a hoagie.

I finally tried a cheesesteak after reading all the good reviews. The guy working there was really friendly and I like how it’s an older store. The cheesesteak was average. There wasn’t enough meat to fill the bread and the meat wasn’t anything special. I’ve had better cheesesteaks in the area, but I would consider going back to here because the guy working was very friendly and it was ready in about 5 minutes.

We had the pleasure of eating at Sam's last week on a business trip to Downingtown. He opened the place in 1976 and it maintains that same vibe. My colleague and I both ordered a pizza cheese steak with pepperoni, onions and mushrooms. Wow! The bread and the love that went into making it! Make sure to save room for a stop at Sam's next time you're in town!

I've ordering from Sam's since I was a kid! For a little corner store the food blows the doors off the larger establishments in town.

I see a lot of people complaining about hang ups... Keep in mind, when you're trying to have a half hour conversation how many people do you think he has on hold that want to order and spend money? Here's a little trick I learned, open a box up in house or in front of the delivery guy to check the quality before you pay them! It's kinda like checking your order at McDonalds,...

Tried placing an order on the telephone for delivery. Looked at the online menu and after placing the order, I asked for the total cost. The cost was $5.00 more than what I added up. When I asked the owner why, he chuckled and stated, "Oh, that menu online is 5 years old and the prices have changed 3 times since then!" He then said, "Look, do you want it, yes or no?" I replied "No thanks" and he then hung up on me. Rude! Also, who charges $14.75 for...
