Hidden Gem! Tucked-away where Bobby Simone's steakhouse & nextdoor to where Rockin Ramen used to be, this little alcove is like a trip to cool New York City vibes without having to travel 120 miles to get them. The decor is modern and both warm and snazzy at the same time, like a cross between a Max Headroom video and a White Stripes album cover. The best part about the place is everyone inside seems to be beautiful people, dressed like they're on a true night out, not just scrounging around in sweats and jeans. This is a place where you can either relax and chill but with a sexy background radiation, or put on the ritz. The live entertainment is at the perfect volume to allow talking at your table, and lounge-style makes it even more fun throwback, but sung by vivacious 25 year olds. Frost offers delicious meals and appetizers to go along with extensive cocktail, spirits & wine menus. You will find something you love. Lamb chops were sublime popsicles of pleasure, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The mushroom tortatta appetizer was lovely. Filet Mignon top notch. The menu is fun and offers surprising things like octopus, and delightful combinations. They seem to pride themselves on multiple mini-slider types, such as short rib, pork, steak, etc... The lamb chops were the best I've ever had, like, in my life. I lived in Manhattan for 10 years so... The little desert dish we had, molten choclate something in a bowl with a sidecar of cream which was fit to be a desert itself. It seemed small and yet was the PERFECT amount of desert for my date and I. One of the best deserts in town, for sure. We were very pleased to see the menu boasting the use of prime top ingredients, which is a must for us (No "Sysco" deliveries). The one thing we'd do to improve: use and advertise even more exclusive organic and/or farm-to-table ingredients, and that would push it up to 5 stars from 4.5. But Frost is off to a great start in this realm-- WAY ahead of majority of other restaurants around town. The highest compliment I can give, as I like so few restaurants these days, is: WE WILL BE RETURNING!! & GO HERE!!!!

Walking around downtown Doylestown looking for a light dinner and happy hour drinks. At first glance, Frost looks like a nice, small but modern, upscale place. It was pretty empty which seemed odd, but it was a rainy week night. We ordered drinks from the happy hour menu. $10 Modelo and $10 Pinot Grigio. This seemed a better option than the cocktails due to the following. We asked the server what whiskey they used in their old fashioned. The server said they used Jim Beam for the old fashioned but only for happy hour. Then we asked how they made the espresso martini. He stated they use cold brew for the espresso martini because it was happy hour prices. If you decide to get the espresso martini at regular price they use real espresso. Wow, I would hope so because it’s $23!!! So far not a great experience but we hoped the food would make up for it. We ordered Elote Loco but they were out of it. Patatas Bravas sounded interesting but it was overcooked frozen fries with melted fake tasting cheese and a bland aioli of sorts. Maybe they used frozen french fries because it was on the happy hour menu? Next came the Vegetable Lovers Bar Pie. Not on the happy hour menu. For $18 we got a pizza that was very clearly not homemade. It was a personal sized frozen pizza topped with a few vegetables, plastic tasting cheese and that sauce that tastes like an aluminum can. Disappointing, to say the least. Obviously, we will not be going back to Frost.

A Unique Experience for Special Occasions at the Frost Bar I recently visited the frost bar for a date, and it was a memorable experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was unique and set the stage for a special evening. The ambiance was cool and distinct, making it a perfect venue for a more intimate or special night out. The cocktails were a standout—creative, flavorful, and expertly crafted. Each drink was a work of art, and they truly elevated the experience. The highlight of the evening, however, was the mushroom soup. Rich, creamy, and full of flavor, it was easily a 10/10. It’s a must-try for anyone visiting! The only downside I’d mention is the tight space between tables, which made the place feel a little cramped at times. However, the friendly and attentive staff made up for it, creating an inviting and pleasant atmosphere despite the limited space. All in all, the frost bar is a fantastic choice for a special evening, offering delicious food, inventive cocktails, and a unique setting. If you’re looking for a place that offers something out of the ordinary for a special event or celebration, this is definitely a spot to consider. I’ll certainly be returning!

Unfortunately disappointing. Could be a nice spot but way too pompous and pretentious. More worried out their “exclusivity” than actual customer service. Poor service for what is suppose to be an upscale swanky place. Not worth the money or time.

I do not see the ability to respond to the restaurants reply to my initial review.

Here is my response: Thank you for your response. I’d like to clarify a few points and provide additional context.

I wasn’t hiding my identity. I posted a genuine review to share my experience, which is exactly why I used my real name.

Assumptions about the experience: I feel you’ve made assumptions about my behavior and the experience of the entire table. You weren’t sitting with us, so I’m not sure how you can speak to the attitudes and opinions of my guests. What I can tell you is that we were all disappointed with the situation, not just myself.

I did not arrive angry. In fact, my husband and I had a pleasant conversation with the staff at the front door while waiting. When we were seated, I went straight to the restroom, and when I returned, my table was already expressing concern about the volume of the music, which was right next to us. It wasn’t just me who had an issue—it was the entire table. We were given the impression that the sound would be evenly dispersed and that it wouldn’t be disruptive, but that wasn’t the case.

The attempt to resolve the situation: My first instinct was to try to find a solution for everyone. When the noise became unbearable for my group, I politely asked the waitress if we could move to one of the many empty tables in the restaurant. When the manager arrived, I was met with reluctance to accommodate us, despite there being open seating. This was frustrating, but I did not respond with hostility. I was simply looking for a reasonable solution. And I am the one who apologized to the performer as it had nothing to do with her and let her know she had an absolutely beautiful voice.

Regarding the credit card: Yes, I did leave my card behind, which was my mistake. However, what I found frustrating was that despite having a phone number on your website, I was unable to reach anyone by phone—after numerous attempts to contact the restaurant, I didn’t receive an answer. I understand that you may be busy, but I found it concerning that the phone was never answered during business hours, which added to my frustration.

The suggestion to leave a review: Lastly, I want to note that it was actually one of your staff members at the front door who encouraged me to leave a review. I hadn’t initially planned to write one, but the suggestion was made, and I decided to share my experience in the hopes it could help improve things for future guests.

I hope you understand that this review was meant to share a personal experience, not to belittle or insult your staff. I appreciate the efforts of the staff who were trying to accommodate us. My suggestion is simply to be more mindful of where tables are placed when live music is involved. The proximity to the artist and the volume made it difficult for us to enjoy the meal and conversation. I wish you all the best, and I hope others have a more enjoyable experience...

I would recommend going anywhere else in Doylestown. From the moment we walked in, the person who sat us was incredibly rude and made us feel unwelcome. The restaurant was practically empty when we arrived, but instead of hospitality, we got attitude.

There is a sign out front that advertises happy hour but you aren’t told it’s only at two specific hightop tables in the restaurant or the bar which could not accommodate our party. Ok fine whatever that should have been told to us but we ordered (overpriced) drinks anyway.

What really sealed the deal was watching the owner point at our table and count what we ordered, as if we weren’t spending enough. It was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and downright insulting. We had planned to stay longer and order more, including food and drinks, but the unwelcoming atmosphere made us decide to quickly finish up, pay, and leave.

Our server was lovely (and we made sure to tip her well because it wasn’t her fault), but the overall experience was ruined by the owner’s behavior. With so many great spots in Doylestown, I’d suggest going anywhere else. It’s a shame because the place is really pretty inside. Can’t wait till it changes hands!

PART TWO REPLY TO OWNERS COMMENTS:

We know exactly who you are, and you were an absolutely unpleasant human being to interact with. I truly feel for your staff if this is the tone you set for them. Let’s set the record straight: there were fewer than eight guests in your establishment besides our party on a Saturday night. If that’s what you consider your “peak,” then you have much bigger issues.

On top of that, TO DISCRIMINATE AGAINST A PREGNANT PERSON FOR ORDERING A $5 SODA INSTEAD OF A COCKTAIL. IS DESPICIBLE.. Should she have been forced to order a cocktail just to appease you?! There was no minimum spend requirement posted or mentioned anywhere.

Had we been welcomed with basic respect, we absolutely would have ordered more, including food and additional drinks. But instead, we were made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome from the very beginning.

It’s truly a shame. I have not been treated this poorly since my early 20s, and I kept this experience off of social media initially. But after receiving your dismissive response, I will now be sharing this experience, including the discrimination against a pregnant person, across all of my platforms.

It seems as though you meet each bar review with a scathing response. Seems more like an INTERENET BULLY than a employer and buisness owner that wants to make a great place for...

Terrible and unprepared manager. Nice staff and good food.

I came with my wife and my dog, we were sitting outside and another couple arrived with a dog. We requested one of the staff members if we could put one of the two empties tables together, he told me he would ask someone to check. Our waitress arrived, cleaned the table and told us we could use it. My friend told her other 2 people were coming and she said it was okay for the tables.

The manager arrived, very rude, telling they can’t seat by themselves and we explained the waitress gave the okay. After 3 minutes, the other couple we mentioned arrived too. The manager came again, very impolite, telling us they can’t stay because they can’t just arrive and sit in the table the waitress gave the okay.

He clearly didn’t ask the waitress, as she confirmed to us she said that.

Different from the fake review from one hour ago (probably a friend requested from the manager), we talked with people outside who saw the whole situation and they told us they don’t go to this place anymore because the manager is very harsh with staff members.

update after the business reply -

Congrats, more lies! I was already at the table, the first two friends came to us in the corner and didn’t seat, they asked the waiter who was cleaning the table and informed us he would ask someone to check.

When our waitress arrived, she finalized the cleaning and told us it was okay for them to use this table and put it together. She also said it was okay to have in this table the other 2 people who were coming.

Yes, my friend said she would leave a bad review and she did, which is fair, considering the level of service and rudeness of the manager (not only with us, but with staff as well, also confirmed by some people outside the restaurant).

Someone telling the truth about an establishment in a review should not be considered a threat, it is the true reality and that’s the reason we have tools like the review on google, so people who don’t know the place can see what really happens.

Again, we did nothing without consent, the waitress told us the people who arrived can be accommodated and they knew 4 people were coming.

That’s the kind of behavior you get when you disrespect customers.

And there is no questions that Our dogs are more respectful and courteous than the...
