Oh, the internet. You see, in the past, when you had a terrible experience at a restaurant, you only have people around you to tell. Nowadays, we consumers have the power to expose these charlatans to the whole world.
Take a look at this parking lot. If you go at lunch or dinner time to a restaurant on a tourist area and see this many empty spaces, that’s a hint. I wish I took that hint.
Yes, one star because I cannot give NO stars. When I arrived at this place, in the parking lot, I saw something that made me want to turn around: their store sign was broken. That told me "if this people don't care about how their outside look, The inside must be worst".
I go in and I only see 4 buffet tables on a poorly illuminated locale. Had I been alone, I would have left but my family was hungry so I went for it. What a horrible mistake. This dump is the prime example of a TOURIST TRAP: The place that survives only because tourists that don't know any better pay the price.
If you ever drive on that area, AVOID AT ALL COST. Unless you like dirty dishes with food speckles on them, food that looks like it has been on display for hours, and poorly described, this place is for you. Overpriced, old looking, downright unpleasant. Worst Chinese food ever. $65 to the trash, and the only good thing was the waitress and when I tipped her $2 (I feel I overtipped) she changed totally from a nice person to a feisty wench. How so? Well, they bring you the bill about 10 minutes after being seated. Then she tells me that she can take my card to the register and come back with the bill. NOPE, I told her that I go were my card go. So when I, out of courtesy, gave her an undeserved 2 dollars tip, she angrily grabbed the receipt that I just signed, crumpled it and tossed it in the trash. I needed that receipt so I made her retrieve it from the trashcan and give it to me.
For the next 5 hrs I was afraid that I would have to be treated for food poisoning. At around $15 (not including soda, tips or their nasty looking snowcrab legs) this is a robbery. The worst place to go in Orlando.
The sushi was soggy, only one variety, and looked old. A huge flan, which gave me hope of at least eating something good there, was like putting a lukewarm, runny omelet in my mouth. Flan is made of eggs but you are NOT supposed to taste the egg. How can you mess Sushi and Flan custard? Somehow they manage to do so spectacularly. The rest of the food was dry, mediocre and frankly felt dangerous.
Unless you like to guess what ice cream you are eating, or don't care about that little SERVSAFE concept of "time and temperature", Avoid like a plague.
Oh, about that: I happen to be a culinary school graduate and I can tell you the reason why the food is lukewarm: It’s food from the previous day, on the same dirty tray, straight from the fridge to the water table, expecting the food to warm up that way. You do that with seafood, you are indeed looking for trouble.
The correct procedure is to remove these leftovers from their present tray, bring them to temperature and place them on a CLEAN tray, THEN put on the water table to MAINTAIN the temperature. This wasn’t done, and anyone with basic restaurant skills could confirm this.
Oh, and they were fixing the acoustic tiles on their ceiling right over the food tables, without even an attempt to protect the food from falling dirt and what not. Oh, and did I tell you about the roach by my table?
All I could hear in the kitchen was Mexican music, so chinese food this is not. If I wanted food made by the great Mexican people I would had gone to one of their great restaurants in the area.
From the lying prick at the door who negotiated a price with me an then charged me WAY MORE to the downright gross food and place, This musky place is nausea inducing. Unless you have a dead wish, avoid...
Read moreI’ve never spent $140.25 in a 5 start restaurant and yet this is what my husband spent at this dirty place. I went to this restaurant for the first time ever with my family. The first problem was that they kept repeating 4,4,4 and I told them we are 5 but now I know they were arguing about my kids hight then the English barrier. I couldn’t understand them but I thought… it’s ok I guess. BOY! I was wrong!!! When we got the receipt my husband looked at me surprised But I didn’t know why and didn’t tell me what was wrong. In the car I took out the receipt and it didn’t add up. The buffet is $19.95 per adults and $9.95 for kids. People please!!! Check your receipts before paying. My kids was charged as adults. Ok we paid, but I was curious and I called and asked how much is the buffet and was told $19.95 and I told the person on the phone… you charged my kids as adults??? She responded o because we measure and I’m like…??? You measure??? My kids told me at the moment… no one measured me mommy. When did you measure anyone I asked?? I’m 5”3’ you can see the difference from a distance. Anyways look at your receipt before paying because the tip is already included in your bill as well and then in your receipt it asks for additional tip $__ jajajaja The food was bad!!! McDonald’s would have been a much better option then this!!! Now I understand why this place was empty. The service is bad and they will take the maximum out of your pocket. With so many good restaurants around DON’T go to this one. And I never leave bad reviews but today I had to only because the way the person was talking to me over the phone. I was just asking questions and she went off on me. I have no time to argue with that kind of people. Beware if you kid is 7 and measure 5”… that’s an adult for them. But the math… lady!!! It didn’t add up. But!!! Enjoy it and God bless. I should’ve listen to my husband to eat at a 5 star restaurant. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE PAYING!!! I give no stars to this place! I want to add to my comment that the very next day my kids, my husband, and I had nausea and diarrhea and it’s not a...
Read moreWe stopped here on a Saturday evening only because it was an hour wait for a table at Outback Steakhouse across the parking lot. I love Chinese buffet so I thought “why not?” Lord I wish I would’ve waited or just gone to any other place but this tourist trap/ NASTY/ overpriced /dump place disguised as “Chinese buffet “. When You first walk in you’re greeted with an unpleasant smell of mold and stale air, like the place isn’t fully ventilated so all of the grease stays in. Floors are very sticky, tables are dirty with the napkin holder and soy sauce bottle coated in dust and grease. Honestly I’ve lost my appetite even before I took a look at the buffet tables, ( we should have left at this point) food simply did not look good to begin with and of course was pretty bad.. except for the chicken wings… at least they were hot.. everything else was cold. Also very limited food selection, I didn’t dare to try the fish/sea food, for fear of getting food poisoning. The manager/owner was angrily yelling the whole time to her staff, which could be heard across the entire dining room. Oh and they had cheap plastic silverware and plates!!! On top of all of that we were charged $94 for two adults and three kids!! We only ordered two drinks (they charged one of the kids as an adult.. because these people are that shady) Also shady is the practice they had of adding a 15% gratuity to the bill, when all the waiter did was to bring the drinks and the bill? We barely ate because of how unappetizing everything was to begin with, I think this place ruined the Chinese buffet experience for my 6 yo daughter, she was grossed out before we even said anything, she said the nuggets and pizza was “gross “, her stomach started to hurt right after. I would have spent less than that at Outback and had a server and decent food. Sorry but this place...
