The entire experience at this iHop was mediocre. As a friendly and patient customer, I was simply expecting a nice, easygoing brunch with my boyfriend, but this did not go as planned for our Sunday.
To start, the iHop was barely busy which made it seem like we were going to get great, quick service. This was not the case. To save myself time I will simply list the issues we ran into, in order:
After we kindly just asked for the bill and the other part of the to-go container we asked if we were to pay upfront. After walking up to the front we were told one person could not help us, which then kept us waiting there patiently for even more time. Finally, someone who seemed like the manager who was very cordial checked us out, bill was paid, and we left relieved after finally getting out.
This is where our day had turned sour and is issue #7. After walking to our car and sitting for a moment to process how poor our experience was, we were then tracked down by our waiter who came outside to our car accusing us of not paying our bill, saying that we were to only check out with her and only her. After explaining again who we checked out with, described what she looked like, and stated more than once that we did pay, we were still being fact checked about who helped us checked out. We left the signed bill on the counter just about 2 minutes before this occurred, so if our waiter had simply checked to see if the bill was paid first, she would have saved herself time. This was the most frustrating aspect of our experience especially when we still tipped 20% and made us wish we had been more upfront with our bad experience, although we were simply trying to leave and get on with our day and forget all of this ever happened, which still proved to be difficult with this iHop.
Will never be going to this iHop again as any level of hope for a better experience is at a 0. Usually I am not one to spend time on things like this as it is just 1/10,000 iHops. Although, I write this as a warning to those that choose to eat...
Read moreMy family and I came here for my birthday dinner on our vacation to Florida. My previous experiences with this location were great, but unfortunately I can't say the same for tonight.
There were ants near the wall menu at the entrance, crawling from behind the paneling to the ceiling, all of our orders were incorrect in some way, and the service was below standard.
I ordered Strawberry Banana Pancakes and the banana slices that are supposed to be fresh and placed on top were instead ripe and baked into the pancake. The staff also decided to tell us this is how the food is made, which is not true of the previous times I've been to this IHOP location and other locations, along with the menu's picture.
My dad ordered the Cinnamon Bun Crepes. There were no strawberries, and the melted drizzle was instead way too much powdered cinnamon sugar sprinkled onto the top. It was completely coated, and he had to try and scrape most of it off to even taste any of the other elements of the dish.
My mom ordered the New Country Fried Steak with eggs done overeasy, but they were undercooked. The egg was clear and runny.
There was a table besides us that had dirty plates and cups, which never got touched by any staff member the entire half hour we were there.
At the beginning of our visit, the server we got was attentive. After we got our food, he checked on us and one of us asked for a refill, which we never got. We had to yell into the kitchen to even get our check when we were the only ones in the restaurant, and they were just chatting in the back room. We politely asked for the price to be marked down, because undercooked food and incorrect orders isn't worth 40 dollars, but they only took the price off of the crepes. The total was 35 and some change, we handed them 40 and the cashier/waiter said they don't have any change, forcing us to pay 5 dollars extra anyways, which we chalked up to an undeserved tip.
We probably won't be coming here again, this really wasn't the birthday dinner that I was hoping for. Next time we'll be...
Read moreThis was my first visit to an IHOP in many years. We had visited a Denny's the morning before and wanted to see if there was any difference between the 2 restaurants. Well, while the experience was OK I would have been much happier with the Denny's just north of this location.
Hostess was pleasant. She sat us down with freshly wiped down menus at our table (wet menus). Service was on the slow side, took a while for our server to come to our table to take our order. While she seemed busy the runs she was making to the kitchen seemed to be with just one hand carrying something, the other being free. Tables were getting their food in tranches, not all at once. I asked for lemon for my water and a few minutes later I was handed a tiny bowl of tiny old & dried out lemon wedges (they were obviously cut many hours earlier). Yay. The coffee was fine but the cups are quite tiny. In my party of two I was served my pancakes separately (good, warm & fluffy) while my wife sat without any food for a few minutes. Minutes after hers was delivered the rest of my meal was finally served. The timing of the food delivery to our table was unpleasant - 2 meals delivered in 3 separate steps separated my minutes. I had a partial delivery of my order while she had nothing, then I had to wait to get the rest, after she was well into her meal. And this was late morning, when the restaurant wasn't busy at all. And finally, when the cheque arrived I was amused to see that the server decided to circle the gratuity suggestion area, something that is rather tacky IMO.
Overall the visit was OK. Nothing great, nothing horribly...
