IHOP — Restaurant in Dr. Phillips

I came on a Sunday around 11:30. Alex, the host said it would be a 25 minute wait, so I decided to wait. I got called to be seated in just under 10 minutes. I was seated in a booth next to the kitchen and was surprised at how clean the place was being so busy. Jason was my server and he was awesome. Less than a minute after I sat down he greeted me and said he would be with me in just a moment because another tables food was ready. I asked for coffee and when he brought the tables food that was next to me he also had my coffee. He then asked if I needed anything and if I was ready to order or needed more time. I got the appetizer sampler and Colorado omelette. He asked if I needed any more creamer and sugar for my coffee as well as if I needed any sauces for my food. The sampler came out quick along with the honey mustard ketchup and marinara I asked for. Less than 5 minutes later my omelette came out. Jason brought me extra napkins and refilled my coffee without me asking. The food was great everything was fresh and perfect. What was supposed to be crispy was. What was supposed to be hot was. The establishment seemed to be very well run. When I left I gave him $20 because he was genuine, nice, and attentive. Everyone here seemed to be nice and friendly. The food was good and the staff was good. The only negative is that it's a little small and cramped but that's just nit picking....

Today I visited and dined at this location. I was disappointed when they told me I had to wait 25 minutes for my table. I did what everyone else did when they are told to wait. I do believe that it was in fact longer than 25 minutes. Finally we got our table and ordered our beverages. They were brought to us in a timely manner and all was well. We waited for what seemed to be ages for the waitress to return and ask for our food requests. She then returned and received our requests. Following that interaction, we waited for another 60 minute's without even being looked at or checked upon. We then receive our food, hungry and unhappy we began to feast. But we were soon to recognize that some of our grub was overcooked, undercooked, and cold. We then had to eat our hot pancakes, (which was the only thing that was somewhat pleasant about our dining experience) while we waited to be seen by our waitress. We waited another 15 minutes to even be noticed by our waitress who then took our food back to the kitchen. She brought us new food that we hoped would be better but our dinning experience was already a bad one. The new food was better than before but still not great unlike how we expected it to be. My recent experience at IHOP was incredibly disappointing and frustrating, marked by abysmal service and a complete lack of regard for customer satisfaction.

Despite the restaurant being virtually empty, the staff seemed disinterested and indifferent to our presence. Upon arrival, we were left standing without acknowledgment, as workers made no effort to seat us at a table. Despite being told to wait for only two minutes, we ended up waiting for over ten minutes without any attention or assistance from the staff.

The utter disregard for our time and the lack of basic courtesy demonstrated by the workers was appalling. It's unacceptable for a restaurant to treat customers in such a dismissive manner, regardless of how busy or quiet the establishment may be.

Needless to say, we left IHOP feeling frustrated and unappreciated as patrons. I cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment to others, as the level of service we received fell far below even the most basic standards of hospitality.

IHOP has a long way to go in improving its customer service if it hopes to retain loyal customers and uphold its reputation in the industry. Until then, I will be taking my...
