As I write this, my level of frustration is at the highest it's ever been since I've been at this property. My issues began upon check in on 3/26/25. As I walked through the sliding doors, Jefferson and Junior were in a heated argument, which didn't stop when I walked in. My presence seemed to make the argument worse, as my need to check in interrupted their verbal jousting. They actually made me walk back out the door and dial the late check in line, even though they were both standing there and could've checked me in right then. I went to the phone and dialed the number on the sign. Junior was so adamant about arguing with Jefferson that he didn't' even answer. I walked back inside and Jefferson booked me in room 306. I brought my things over the morning of 3/27. The odor that smacked us in the face was so rancid that I instantly got a headache. It smelled like an animal urinated on the carpet and it wasn't cleaned. Then the oven door came off. I spoke to Chloe about this issue. She asked me, "why did they give you that room?" As if I had a say in the matter. So in other words, this room is known to be a problem and no one had the wherewithal to notate this or block it off to make sure no one is booked into that room. We both had to work so after work, Jefferson gave my boyfriend the key to the new room, 303. We were so delighted to find a cracked bathroom sink that leaks, a shower rod that was hanging by a thread, and the shower only putting out scalding hot water so we could not even shower after we got off work! So back to Jefferson. He says there is no maintenance at this location so he gives us the key to room 306 so we can at least bathe. the shower rod in 303 fell down and now the bathroom is totally useless except for the stained toilet. I wake up on 3/28 and head to work. On my way out, I speak to the lady at the front desk and tell her the room issues. (She was an older Caucasian or Hispanic lady with thick black hair and freckles, I did not get her name). I get off work and find out from my boyfriend that nothing was done to fix the issues in the room so i wait in line to verbalize my grievances only for Jefferson to laugh in my face, take no accountability, and stress to me that the managers are the ones who check the rooms and it was my fault for not checking the rooms beforehand and that I need to take it up with the manager who doesn't work weekends. At least he gave me the key to 302 to take a shower in a tub that was filled with hair and mold (I have video proof of this). I am so disgusted with the fact that you have the hubris to charge $450 a week for rooms in these conditions. And you'll expect me to pay that on time or else I'll be charged a late fee, or worse. All while I've been playing musical rooms since I arrived! The service is terrible, rooms are disgusting, and you should be ashamed. I demand compensation (in the form of free nights or a free week in a decent room) because I have been more than level headed about all of this and you don't deserve it when I am the one getting the short end of the stick. I will go to the highest ranking person of this company and make sure they know that this is a circus. All I want to do is work and come back to my room to relax but I can't even unpack because I don't know what will...
Read moreBooked three rooms for a conference down the road for me and my work staff and wish I hadn’t (October 2025). Staff openly hesitated—and even criticized us—for requesting clean towels because there’s no room service at this hotel and thus no clean towels provided after the first night. One hotel employee eventually (and reluctantly) gave them wash cloths but only after telling my colleagues they were only getting towels because they had “pretty privileges.” Room keys repeatedly failed, and the front desk refused replacements. Door to the room would not close properly and thus couldn't be locked from the inside. At 11:00 a.m. on one of the mornings, October 24, one of my team members was told he had to vacate in five minutes or we would be charged for another night—despite being promised a late checkout at check-in. To top it off, the hotel checked out another of the rooms a day early, then tried to bill us for another extra night on top of what was already booked! Only after I explained their error did they reluctantly adjust giving keys to the room we booked, paid for and was not allowed access to -- but they still charged us for an extra night — one more than we stayed — and even then, with attitude.
By that evening (October 24), we packed our bags and moved next door to the Four Points by Sheraton, where we finally received normal hospitality. The front-desk agent there even said guests switching over from Extended Stay is common, which, sadly, didn’t surprise her.
I only chose this hotel because it was walking distance from the convention center. Had I read the reviews beforehand, I would have chosen a different hotel.
I plan to write a letter to the CEO, Greg Juceam, at 13024 Ballantyne Corporate Pl, Suite 1000, Charlotte, NC 28277, upon my return. All of my staff will be signing the letter to testify to the above. I have no doubt the management of this hotel will not refund us for the nights we could not stay, the nights we were charged and never booked, etc. No doubt the management will use the standard cookie-cutter template of expressing empathy like they did for the other negative reviews, which in the grand scheme of things says they won't care. Maybe Greg Juceam will care when he gets our letter.
Bottom line: chaotic front desk, inconsistent policies, and rudeness that crosses into inappropriate comments. Being checked out early, threatened with extra charges, then actually charging us for extra nights beyond what we booked, and denied basic courtesy (towels and working keys) is not “hospitality.” I won’t be back—and I’ll advise fellow conference attendees to...
Read moreI have been staying at Extended Stay America for a month an a half. It is a four story building with vending machines, small pool, a laundry area, and a small gym. There is no business center at this location. The room has a comfortable bed, a sofa, a recliner, a tv, and a small kitchen. The cable goes in and out when it rains, which is pretty frequently considering is Florida. The wifi goes out all the time and when it works it is very slow. However, you can always "upgrade" your internet by paying by the hour/month. I don't know about the quality of the paid internet as I did not trust it enough to purchase.
I am giving it a 2 star rating because cleanliness is an issue. We are supposed to have once a week maid service to do an in-depth cleaning (bathroom, kitchen, vacuum, etc). She does not come every week. After a month and a half I am still waiting to have the stove (that I haven't used) clean. It has residues of food from previous guest use. They are also supposed to do a "refresher" of the room at the end of the week (make the bed, refills on toilet paper, take the trash, etc.) They do not take the trash and they only leave a stack of towels. I have had to take the trash out myself most of the time I have been here. There is a trash room on my floor to deposit the trash and that room is disgusting. Someone spilled what looked like a milkshake next to a trash bin inside the trash room, and that spilled milkshake stayed spilled on the floor for 2 weeks. It didn't occur to the cleaning staff to clean that up. The smell took over the halls and it was repulsive to walk through the halls just to make it to your room. They do not clean the halls with frequency. Other guest might drop something or kids might drop a snack wrapper and that piece of trash will stay there until a guest picks it up. If and when, they come to clean or do a refresher of the room, they only bring towels. No toilet paper, dish washing soap, body soap, shampoo and other amenities I was told I will be provided. I have to go downstairs to the lobby to ask for soup every time I run out. You have to physically go to the lobby and wait for someone to fetch the items so you can take it back to your room as they do not have "enough" staff to bring your items to your room. And a lot of times they run out of shampoo, soup, etc. and you have to go back a different day.
The one plus about this place is that is safe and I haven't had any issues with lost/stolen items.
If you want to be close to the parks in a safe spot, but don't care about cleanliness or smells, this is the...
