On March 11, 2022, my mom and I visited the Red Lobster location on International Dr. in Orlando, Fl. on March 11 with my mom. We both had literally just let the location off West Colonial, however we left because they didn’t have any live lobsters because the waiter said the tank was broke. So when we arrived I asked our waitress Alexis did they still have the promo for the chef’s lobster special for 1 1/4 pd. lobster special for $33.99 where she replied yes. I explained that we were there a week prior and that it was listed on a separate piece of paper and not on the menu promoting their specials. She said that she knew what I was referring to. She further stated that it was the same price and that if we wanted it, we didn’t need to see the paper. However, once we were finished eating and received the bill I noticed she charged us $37.99 instead of $33.99 listed on the promo. Therefore we requested to physically see the paper with the promo. Now all of a sudden they were out of the papers and they wouldn’t honor the price that was listed that she claimed they would prior to us ordering. Then Mgr. Kat came out and basically said that he couldn’t honor the price claiming market value prices had increased in just one week and there’s nothing that he could do. Even though we were just at their other location where the price was actually $31.99. To add insult to injury another guy named Cody came over to our table and basically tried to loud talk us and embarrass us in front of all the other customers with a card with corporate number after I explained to Kat that I didn’t need the number and I had already located the number online. At that point, I felt as though they were being racist and tried to belittle and degrade both my mom and I in front of the rest of their customers. Because I couldn’t honestly see them doing this to any other customers in the restaurant. Additionally, Kat walked passed my mom and I to greet other patrons on several occasions without saying a word to us. I felt after he noticed that we were looking at him, he finally decided to at least say hi. In addition, after I told them it was fine, they basically kept trying to insult us in front of other people by loud talking us, until my mom basically got up and walked out from being embarrassed. At that point, were extremely humiliated with what we thought would be an enjoyable experience, but turned out to be a nightmare. For reasons that, we had driven so far to come to that location, and it basically turned out to be an awful experience. With all that said, I ended up tipping our waitress 20%, because she was a good waitress other than giving us false information regarding pricing, plus we are business owners ourselves and we understand the importance of tipping when necessary. However the management there was awful with how they handled the overall situation. FYI, honestly at that point it really wasn't about the price, it was about the fact that they purposely tried to humiliate us in front of everyone else as if we were trying to get something for free. We merely wanted them to honor what they initially told to us, yet they refused and tried to embarrass us in the process. Very disgusting and awful practices. Never will we visit another...
Read moreIt was our first experience with Lobster so we can only give an opinion of what we had without being able to compare with another. We firstly signed up for the app but never received the discount offered so initially disappointed with that. We originally ordered 2 X shrimp my way with an extra maine tail and rock tail so we could compare lobster. Our sever returned to suggest we change our order which would allow us to receive 2 additional sides. I asked if this would be more expensive but they said it wouldn't be it would actually be less. This was incorrect as it cost a few more dollars but we did get 2 extra sides for the few extra dollars. However it was then too much food. Our server brought biscuits that were warm, fluffy and extremely moorish. Our food was delivered quickly to our table. As you can see from the photos lots of it. We primarily wanted lobster as being called the red lobster this should be the star. We struggled to find a lobster dish on the menu on its own that would give us our lobster experience. With hindsight maybe the lobster lovers Duo would have been the way to go but at over $80 for 2 of these dishes we were not prepared to take the risk. The Maine lobster was amazing. Sweet, soft, melt in the mouth exactly as you would expect it to taste for the price. The Rock lobster on the other hand tasted and felt like an overcooked piece of anonymous white fish. I don't know if this is how it is meant to taste but considering you get 4 bitesize pieces of lobster per tail (basically $5 per bite) surely this can't be right. We didn't bring this to the attention of our server as we felt we didn't have enough references to raise an issue. The coconut shrimp was, along with the coleslaw, far too sweet. The Garlic Scampi (it's not Scampi it's shrimp unless they are referring to the way it is cooked) was very good, the dragon shrimp was also very good. The Linguini Alfredo was overcooked as the pasta had no bite and mixed into the Alfredo sauce and formed a mushy plate of food. The other sides (baked potato , broccoli and hush puppies) were ok, but in our opinion you get better quality from Longhorn Steakhouse. I am being a bit picky but the prices being charged should be represented in the food offered. I don't know if we would go back. We decided to go here as we thought if we went to a buffet we would not get the quality of food and the red lobster marketing is all about quality. However we may have been prudent to try a buffet first and then maybe the red lobster would have shown out. Overall a disappointing visit. Sorry Red Lobster we really wanted to enjoy...
Read moreMy best friend made a reservation at this location for his birthday. You see we all met working at Red Lobster back in the days, and he later went on to manger 4 stores, including this one over a 15 year career. He stood first in line at the host stand for 20 minutes while the manager standing behind it moved back and forth and literally never said a word to acknowledge he was there, no “Hello” no “I’ll be with you soon”, nothing for 20 minutes. Having worked in hospitality for 20 years, my friend is not the kind of person who would demand someone’s attention, he politely waits to be greeted. He and his family decide to leave, and at that point it was a bit late for me to go to the next place, so I decided to order an entree and an appetizer to go, and just head home. 60 minutes later I still didn’t have any food, and since I had already paid and asked to just have my money back, 20 minutes after being treated like the invisible man, the same manager that ignored my friend all night came out handed my a receipt and said “here’s your refund”, and before I could say anything she then started to talk to some of her friends sitting at the bar next to me, she acted like I didn’t exist and my words weren’t being spoken. She didn’t say sorry for the delay, she didn’t offer to buy me a drink, nothing but just pretending like I didn’t exists. I have lived in Orlando for 25 years, I spent 10 of those years in hospitality myself, my spouse is a Rosen graduate who has dedicated her career to hospitality, we go out 2-3 times a week, I have understanding for the up and downs of a restaurant on a busy Saturday night…..this was the worst customer experiences I have ever had, I can see why so many stores have shut down and this franchise is on its last breath. I will never walk in to a red...
