Date of Stay: Saturday, 7/26/25 - Sunday, 7/27/15|Length of Stay: 1 Night||In a nutshell, the Hyatt Regency Orlando is a truly spectacular place to stay, offering stellar staff and service in the perfect location; it has spacious modern rooms with amazing views and offers two excellent pool complexes, all within the heart of Orlando's International Drive & Convention Region. If you want to stay close to the action of it all, or have a conference in Orlando on I-Drive, this truly is the place that you must stay!||Now, for my detailed review:||First, I should disclose that this has been my go-to property for I-Drive Resort & Conference Stays for over ten years now, and I have never had a poor experience staying at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Orlando. As I realize I have not drafted a review of this property in some time, this recent trip has provided me the perfect opportunity to give an updated take on this still amazing property, but should you wish more information, you can still find several of my prior reviews on TripAdvisor:||-July 2019, entitled: "Another Perfect Stay at the Best Property on I-Drive!!!" (posted July 8, 2019)|-May 2014, entitled: "Another Absolutely AMAZING Stay at the Hyatt Regency Orlando!!!" (posted May 27, 2014)|-February 2014, entitled: “Truly AMAZING Valentine's Day Weekend - Excellent Service, Beautiful Rooms & Views!!” (posted February 19, 2014)||Now, with that being said, let's talk about the AMAZING Hyatt Regency Orlando!||The biggest selling point of the Hyatt Regency Orlando is its absolutely perfect location -- you truly could not be closer to all that Orlando has to offer! The Hyatt Regency Orlando is located in the heart of Orlando's International Drive (I-Drive) Tourism and Conference District, offering countless entertainment and dining venues all within easy walking distance. ||The Hyatt Regency Orlando is very convenient to the Orlando International Airport (MCO), located around 12-miles from the airport and just off of the Central Florida Beachline, you can be to the property in 20-30 minutes or less, depending on traffic. ||As the tourist capitol of the world, Orlando is extremely ride-share friendly, and it is very easy for you to get to the property from the Orlando International Airport and then get around the area. You truly would not need to rent a car visiting this part of Orlando, but if you do, the Hyatt Regency Orlando offers ample parking -- both in a large self-parking garage that is a short covered walk from the hotel at $38/day or via friendly and efficient Valet Service at $53/day. While this might seem expensive to some, it is very reasonable and in line with all other properties in the region. ||But again, you truly do not need a rental car and can avoid parking charges all together by simply taking advantage of the plentiful ride-share services that Orlando has to offer. Additionally, the amazing entertainment and dining venues of I-Drive can easily be accessed via the reasonably priced I-Ride Trolley, which has a stop just out front of the property, and for which two (2) adult tickets are included in your Resort Fee (more on that later). Make sure not to miss the opportunity to visit ICON Park where you will find so much to do -- many people just think of Orlando for its many theme parks, but just down the road from the Hyatt Regency Orlando you will find the Orlando Eye, Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum and SeaLife Aquarium. But, if it is the Orlando Theme Parks that you want to visit, the Hyatt Regency Orlando is still right in the heart of the action and you have easy access to all parks, with SeaWorld and Universal Orlando just a few miles away, and all of the Walt Disney World Parks just a little further out. In fact, the Hyatt Regency Orlando is a "Universal Partner Hotel" and has scheduled daily shuttle services to Universal Orlando; this is another inclusion of the Resort Fee, all you need to do is to make reservations within 24-hours at the property's Universal Vacation Experience Desk located outside the hotel gift shop. And, you also have quick and easy access to SeaWorld Orlando via the I-Ride Trolley. There is not shuttle service to Walt Disney World, but you can get there very easily via ride-share. So, as you can see, the Hyatt Regency Orlando is in the perfect location for your Orlando Vacation!||Should you be in town for a Conference and not the Theme Parks, the Hyatt Regency Orlando is also very centrally located. It is connected directly to several of the Orange County Convention Center's main concourses by covered sky bridges, making this property perfect should you be in town for any conference located at the OCCC. Or, if you are lucky enough to have your Conference hosted at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, it has some of the most spectacular Conference Facilities of any hotel in the region!||Its Conference Facilities aside, the Hyatt Regency Orlando is truly a beautiful Resort. It is comprised of two high towers that dominate the I-Drive Skyline and surround its lush pool complex. The property actually features two excellent pool complexes, one is a more laid-back and relaxing pool above the hotel entry plaza and the other is a spectacular grotto-style pool, offering beautiful waterfall features and a fun water-slide. Both pools offer ample seating with plentiful shade umbrellas and for the ultimate in luxury-relaxation there are some recently updated private cabanas available for rent at a very reasonable rate that includes private lounge seating with a TV, small refrigerator and unlimited shade. All-in-all, the absolute best pool resort complexes that you will find on I-Drive!||In addition to the Hyatt Regency Orlando's excellent pool complexes, do not miss out on its truly heavenly spa! The Spa at the Hyatt Regency Orlando offers some of the best massages that you will ever find in Orlando, and with a treatment, you also gain access to Jacuzzi tubs and a private and relaxing outdoor hot tub area, away from the hustle and bustle of the main pool complex. All-in-all, one of the finest spas that you will find in the region! ||Finally, the Hyatt Regency Orlando offers a massive 24-hour Fitness Center and Peloton Studio. Truly one of the best equipped Resort Fitness Centers in the area!||Now, with all of that being said and all of the truly amazing amenities that the Hyatt Regency Orlando has to offer, this is a "Resort" property in Orlando, which means that there is no escape from the ubiquitous "Resort Fee" that has become all-to-common in the region. The Resort Fee at the Hyatt Regency Orlando is in-line with that of most properties in the area, and will cost you $48/day. This fee is most reasonable when you consider all that it includes:||-Upgraded Guestroom WiFi|-Two I-Ride Trolley tickets to the I-Drive area|-15% discount on spa and salon services|-25% discount on cabana rentals (based on availability)|-Daily Recreational activities at Grotto Pool|-Daily $10 Food & Beverage Credit|-Two (2) bottled waters per day|-Access to 32 EV Charging Stations|-Scheduled Shuttle service to Universal Resort, SeaWorld & Aquatica|-Fitness Center Classes|-Welcome Glass of Champagne in Descend 21|-Daily rental of 1 basic pool float||With the complimentary shuttle service alone, you more than make up for that fee when you consider the cost of ride-share services that are often charged via Uber's "surge" pricing models at peak park opening and closing times. So, the Resort Fee at the Hyatt Regency Orlando is actually a pretty good value compared to that at many other properties!||Oh, also a quick note on the "Upgraded Guestroom WiFi" included in the Resort Fee; unlike many properties in the Orlando Resort Area that offer "free WiFi," the WiFi speed at the Hyatt Regency Orlando was exceptional -- I have never had any issue with WiFi connectivity at this property, and the WiFi continues to be strong whether in your room, a dining venue or the pool. Definitely a great perk to stay connected!||As for the rooms and suites on property, all are very modern and spacious, offering some of the largest base rooms on I-Drive! The base rooms at Hyatt Regency Orlando start at 415-square feet with the option of booking "larger" guest rooms at 470-square feet or significantly larger suites. The Hyatt Regency Orlando has some of the best Suites! We have stayed in multiple different rooms and suites over the years and we have never had a bad experience!||In addition to being spacious and modern, every room at the Hyatt Regency Orlando is equipped with a large marble bathroom to include the Hyatt-brand's high-end Pharmacopia bath products, a mini-fridge and amazing 65-inch televisions equipped with ChromeCast for easy media streaming. Although I am sure that you will be happy with any room on property, for the best experience, I would suggest Pool View Rooms as they provide some of the best views of I-Drive and maybe even the theme park fireworks. All-in-all, you will find each and every room at the Hyatt Regency Orlando to be amazing and certainly the best that you will find on I-Drive!||For this stay, we booked at the very last minute and ended up in a high-floor 1-Bedroom King Suite. It was a beautiful room, with a large separate living area and offered beautiful views of SeaWorld Orlando's new nightly drone and fireworks show. Numerous photos of our Suite are posted with this review.||Finally, as for Dining, you will never go hungry during your stay at the Hyatt Regency Orlando! In addition to all of the amazing local venues on I-Drive, you have ample options on property as the Hyatt Regency Orlando boats six excellent venues! First, for excellent coffee, snacks and quick bites, you will find the "Market." Such "Market" venues are becoming the norm at Hyatt Regency Properties world-wide and are perfect to stock-up the mini-fridge or to have a quick meal. For a relaxing and casual comfort-food meal at anytime of the day, make sure to visit "B-Line Diner," offering truly amazing diner-style delights and some of the best breakfast food around! For poolside food and beverage, "Coconuts Poolside Bar & Grill" offers great poolside food, along with heavenly tropical drinks. An addition since our last stay is the relatively new "Descend 21." This wonderful venue is a great sports-bar style venue featuring both indoor and outdoor seating along with excellent entertainment options such as Topgolf Swing Suites, pool tables, darts and multiple TVs showing every game imaginable! In addition to all of that, for some excellent light bites and amazing craft cocktails, make sure to visit "Rocks" just off of the main lobby each evening! Finally, for the most amazing dining option on property, do not miss out on dinner at "Fiorenzo." "Fiorenzo" was actually the main reason for our last-minute trip, as we wanted to an amazing steak dinner, and "Fiorenzo" truly delivered! All-in-all, you will never go hungry during a stay at the Hyatt Regency Orlando.||One last thing to mention -- unlike most properties worldwide since COVID that have closed their Club Lounges, the Hyatt Regency Orlando still offers what is one of the most amazing Regency Club Lounges of any Hyatt Property. Located near the top of Tower 2, the Hyatt Regency Orlando's Regency Club offers spectacular views of the I-Drive Area -- and the Theme Park Fireworks! The Regency Club offers great breakfast options, snacks throughout the day and an excellent spread of appetizers -- both hot and cold -- each evening. So, if you want to spoil yourself, book a Regency Club Room.||To wrap up this review, let me just say that the Hyatt Regency Orlando truly is your best option if your travels bring you to the Orlando I-Drive area. Offering truly top-notch service, modern and spacious rooms with spectacular views and a heavenly pool complex, make sure not to miss out on a stay the Hyatt...

I was expecting a bit more of a pampered experience with a suite vs a regular room. Our suite was very clean. The amenities were few (refrigerator, coffee maker, desk, table, couch, 2 chairs, and a bed). The bathroom was spacious with a large mirror above the sink, a long mirror on the side wall, a hair dryer, and a light up magnifying mirror. The most shower head option felt magnificent in temporary pain relief the next morning.

The staff is superb! I have only good things to say about each interaction we had from valet to check in to bell hop to dining. Aside from a couple things mentioned below, staff exceeded our expectations.

The cause for average stars: our headboard on the bed wall was against the wall for the vending machine and mechanical room. We're unsure whether the elevators were the cause of all the noise, but there was a constant and consistent bumping and whirring that prevented us from sleeping. At 2:50 am the fire alarm malfunctioned. My husband is recovering from a stroke and it was stressful thinking about how to get him down 29 flights of stairs. Lesson learned - we'll ask for a lower floor in the future.

The fire alarm combined with the noise level for a sleepless evening. I had finally drifted off 5 minutes before the alarms started. There was no communication from hotel staff to let us know it was a false alarm, until later that morning when a letter was slipped under our door. I tried to call the front desk from the room phone, but that phone was dead, adding to the already heart pounding feeling from the alarm. Too many horror movies have a dead phone scene!

It wasn't what I've witnessed with Hyatt in the past, and I'm leaning towards other accommodations going forward. At the least I'll book a regular room because the suite experience was disappointing. Perhaps I was mistaken in thinking booking a suite would yield a more comfortable stay.

I asked for extra washcloths, but there were only two.

They did de-feather the bed, but that did not make the bed more comfortable. I asked for firm bedding (remove any soft pillow topper) but the bed was so soft that my arthritis was inflamed. I had a mild migraine from the pillows and ended up sleeping without a pillow until that hurt, too. I ask for firm beding due to medical issues with my spine, neck, and shoulders, as well as my husband's chronic pain from the stroke. Soft bedding has us feeling miserable, and I know I'll be uncomfortable for 4 more days at minimum, with last night and tonight being the worst.

Our friends at the Rosen had a bar and kitchenette in their suite. We will consider staying there next time. I choose Hyatt because I've had spectacular stays in the past, and because it was slightly more convenient for my husband to access the convention center with air conditioning for most of the walk to the conference, and with no streets to cross.

I received our final bill today and our resort credit wasn't applied to anything. Did I mistakenly think dining and shopping would use that credit? I don't know, but I'll be finding out. I was also unaware that valet would cost $50 per day! I didn't see any signs, and everywhere else I've stayed has complimentary valet for guests. I am surprised our resort credit didn't apply to that, either. There is nothing indicating on our bill that a credit was applied (the credits column is blank). All expenses incurred were done prior to the 11 am check out time. There was an additional fee added to our tip at the B-Line Dinner. I already tipped 25 or 30% (we sat at the counter, only had ice cream, and our waitress didn't even have to refill anything).

You don't have to carry cash for tipping valet or bell staff if you use Venmo, Zelle, or CashApp.

I did not have time to address the issues because we were there for only one night. They couldn't have fixed anything at that time.

Overall it was an okay stay, but I could have spent $200 less and been happier.

The staff and cleanliness of our room balanced out the rest to give this an...

Update: they gave me “partial refund” for the issues but I am still not happy with it I prefer the full refund especially with the issues I had. I would love to talk to the GM about this horrible experience especially when it was my first ever Hyatt hotel stay

I am absolutely livid after my experience at Hyatt Regency Orlando during my stay for the NATIONAL pageant from November 21 to December 3—over a week ago! I feel compelled to share my experience in detail so that others can understand just how poorly I was treated and the multitude of issues I faced. If you’re considering this hotel for your stay, let me be perfectly clear: NEVER stay here unless you want to deal with a nightmare that will overshadow your entire experience!

To kick things off, let’s talk about the billing practices. I was completely blindsided when I found out that my room payment would be taken out on checkout day. When I called to confirm, they kept insisting that the money had already been deducted. Well, guess what? Now I’m sitting here with a negative balance of over $2,000! How is this even remotely acceptable? I’m left scrambling to manage this financial disaster! The lack of transparency and communication around their billing is not only confusing but downright infuriating!

But that’s just the beginning of my frustrations. I had a seriously uncomfortable experience when housekeeping walked in on me while I was changing. Yes, you read that right! No knock, no warning—just a complete invasion of my personal space. I felt completely violated and uncomfortable in what should have been my private sanctuary. How can a hotel allow such unprofessional behavior, especially during a significant event like a national pageant? It is beyond unacceptable.

The noise levels in the hotel were absolutely unbearable. I was subjected to constant banging on the walls from both sides of my room, making it nearly impossible to relax or concentrate before my big moments. It felt like I was living in a construction zone rather than a hotel meant for guests. And as if that wasn’t enough, there was a dog barking all day long. I understand that pets are allowed, but come on! This is a hotel, not a dog park! How is anyone supposed to prepare for an important competition surrounded by that kind of chaos?

To add insult to injury, the housekeeping service was a total disaster. They didn’t change our linens at all during our entire stay! I had to call down just to get clean towels, which is ridiculous. It felt like I was begging for basic necessities that should be standard in any hotel. When I finally mustered the courage to bring these issues to the attention of the front desk, their response was simply “not my problem.” Seriously?! This is the kind of customer service you can expect at Hyatt Regency Orlando? It’s infuriating and unacceptable.

Because of all these distractions and issues, I didn’t perform my best at the competition. The stress and frustration that came from the hotel experience overshadowed what should have been an exciting and empowering time. I was upset, and it affected my ability to focus on what I had worked so hard for. It’s disheartening to think that a hotel could ruin such a significant moment in my life.

I am beyond frustrated, and I am demanding a full refund for all the troubles I experienced during my stay. This trip was meant to be a celebration of hard work, dedication, and achievement, but instead, it has left me feeling angry and disrespected. I’m sharing this review not just to vent my frustrations but to warn others—DO NOT make the same mistake I did by choosing this hotel! There are plenty of other places that actually care about their guests and provide a decent experience. I will NEVER be returning to Hyatt Regency Orlando, and I expect a prompt response regarding my...
