It’s been a while since I’ve visited Jimmy John’s—mostly because their locations are a bit off my usual route, their delivery radius is tiny, and I live just beyond reach of every store in town. They also don’t seem to partner with DoorDash, which limits convenience.
The store wasn’t busy during my visit (either a quiet Monday lunch or the calm before a sandwich storm). I remember portions being a bit more generous in the past, though to their credit, prices are still lower than Jersey Mike’s. The new hot sandwiches and sides are a nice touch, but the potato salad missed the mark—too sweet, too small, and too pricey for what it was. I’m so sorry but the pre-packaged potato salad looks sad and lonely in a half empty container. Luckily, I used rewards points, so at least my disappointment was free of charge.
On the bright side, the bread remains excellent—distinct flavor, fresh texture, and you can take home a day-old loaf for just 50¢. Perfect for croutons or pressed sandwiches. My only suggestion aside from the portioning and doing away with that generic potato salad? Toss in a pickle wedge with the sandwich instead of charging $2.19 for a whole one. It’s the little things that make a...
Read moreTHIS LOCATION SUCKS! IT USED TO BE GOOD, NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENED BUT NOW ITS AWFUL, MOST LIKELY AWFUL MANAGEMENT! Most of the time if you use the app to order it says the app isn't taking online orders, call the store, you call the store no one ever answers. If you do get lucky and the app works your typically waiting either 15 minutes or over 2 hours, most likely the latter. Just ordered food for my kids against my better judgement at 11:55AM, its now after 2PM and the driver just showed up! I told him to throw the food out and give me a refund. Never ordering from the Sand Lake location again, EVER! Waste of time and money! This is at least the 10th time this has happened, shame on me for not waking up sooner. Will also email corporate.
UPDATE: Emailed corporate, no response, go figure... so this place now has a sign on the window saying they close at 5 every day and they are closed on the weekends, i stopped by here at lunchtime today (i was already in the plaza) and its a Friday and they are closed at 11:15AM, dark...
Read more20 minutes for 2 sandwiches, one of them was the wrong sandwich (but was marked correctly on the wrapper, ha!). There were only 2 single-sandwich orders waiting before me. There were probably a dozen orders that came in after mine, those people may never get their sandwiches... The crew of guys in here was completely disorganized - reciepts all over the place, stuff sitting on the cutting boards where they should be making sandwiches, bread cart in the walkway behind the counter where they should be standing, no one working their station, no one knew the menu or what everyone should be doing, half the crew just stood there staring at their mess (not sure if this was laziness or just complete lack of instruction). They need to close this location until they can hire a manager and do some training. When I worked at JJs in college we had to know the menu completely from memory before even being hired (there was a test). Our goal was under 30 seconds from order to sandwich in hand (Freaky Fast). This was by far the worst JJs experience...
