I just like Casper's. The selection of dogs, they'll set them up any way you want (of course I'm boring and go for their default for each kind), and it doesn't take long to get served even when the line goes out the door. Eat there (inside or outside) or take it home with you.
The buns and dogs are in a steamer; that means the buns are warm and soft and the dogs aren't waterlogged like you get when they are boiled or hard when heated on a grill or roaster. The dogs have a light pop when you bite into them and the onions and tomatoes are always fresh.
I regularly have either the sauerkraut dog or the polish dog, unless I'm really hungry and I have both. My wife also likes the sauerkraut and my son is into the cheese dog. There are really only two things I'm not fond of on their menu. The chilli which just tastes like a low budget canned food, and the hot links which are very oily.
This is a good location, not too noisy and I've always been able to find parking close by (either on the street or the...
Read moreok, so the food was great as always, love Casper Dogs, but the service was really disappointing. I was taking a chili cheese dog to go to my husband who would not be eating his for another couple hours. I simply asked the lady (who's worked their forever) if i could have the chili on the side and she went into a rant about how it would take 2 containers and they are expensive. I said i would pay for the container and she said no she cant do that and doesnt know how much they cost anyway, but she would do it this time..and just wasnt very nice about it. I know the containers cant be more than .10 cents each and I just thought this was rediculous.....I was looking at the menu and said oh, i guess you could just charge me for a cheese dog and a side of chili and in a negative tone said...."I said I would do it this time, but yes that's how you should have ordered...
Read moreI used to absolutely love Casper's it has brought me back to my childhood when I would ride my bike down there with friends all the time to grub. I've never gotten anything other than my normal, which is a chilly cheese dog, and it's always been super tasty. Until I went to this location. At this location it is now I guess up to whoever makes the chili that day or that time, but the chili has now become super way too spicy. and my palate is very sensitive to excess z that making it to where the last time I had one I had to throw it away because I couldn't need it super disappointing and I'm hoping that the other location which is much further from my house will still have the regular non spicy chili for the chili cheese dog. Until then, I'm not going to eat...
