I really hope this is a bad Saturday night for Ducciniās, but weāve been ordering from their locations since 2014. This is the first time ordering from their Shaw location.
We ordered at 6:45pm. We called at 7:45pm and asked for an updated ETA - where we told the delivery driver was ā2 minutes away.ā Fast forward to 8:05ā20 minutes laterāwe were told āthe driver left 10 minutes ago.ā The delivery driver finally arrives between 8:12-8:15 and we were so relieved the pizza finally got here for the event we were hosting. Then our guests started asking about the chicken wings⦠We were given all the pizza boxes and one bag which included our salad and garlic bread. There were no wingsā¦
I called again to ask if they missed the wings. The person taking the orders promised they were made and that heād call the delivery driver. He calls me back to say he spoke with the driver and they were delivered⦠which they werenāt. No offer of refund, discount, help, remaking and delivering the wings. (I did start off with the fact we had already waited 90 minutes and folks didnāt want to wait for the wings - just cut us loose and let us go. Instead, I just got a ācall back on Sunday when the owner is in.ā
Like I said, we love Ducciniās and the food is usually good. But be careful with this location. They were slow (Iāve honestly never had to wait 90 minutes for pizza but maybe Iām lucky), pizza arrived barely warm, and the order was incomplete. Then, instead of helping, they gaslight you and want you to call back at a time when the staff who took care of the order arenāt around so thereās no one to confirm, deny, or help you find resolution.
I would ONLY recommend calling in and picking up. Check your items and make sure youāre charged properly! The food is great but the service, delivery, and integrity are highly questionable after tonight. Iām sad to say Iām going to have to give up on one of my favorite pizza places in DC. There has been about three different instances where I was dissatisfied by the quality of my pizza after having STUPENDOUS JUMBO SLICES!! They would give me pizza thatās not fresh but still edible however the quality goes down about 40%! I just called and asked how long for fresh pizza, he ignored me proceeding to ask my order.. The woman at the register was extremely rude, nasty attitude, and unprofessional. When we asked questions about their pizza specials, she responded by yelling and seemed irritated by basic questions. Then to put the cherry on top she felt the need to speak in her native language about us and the rest of the customers.
To make matters worse, we were given the wrong food due to them changing the menu and having the old menu still posted. The price changed and were didnāt mind. When we pointed it out, she refused to correct the order or offer any kind of solution. Thankfully, one of the male employees was much more helpful and tried to assist us, but she continued to be loud and confrontational.
I donāt recommend you go. If you do go MAKE SURE TO NOT GET THE SPECIAL.
Customer service matters, and this experience left a bad impression. Definitely would...
