Duccini's Pizza

I really hope this is a bad Saturday night for Duccini’s, but we’ve been ordering from their locations since 2014. This is the first time ordering from their Shaw location.

We ordered at 6:45pm. We called at 7:45pm and asked for an updated ETA - where we told the delivery driver was “2 minutes away.” Fast forward to 8:05–20 minutes later—we were told “the driver left 10 minutes ago.” The delivery driver finally arrives between 8:12-8:15 and we were so relieved the pizza finally got here for the event we were hosting. Then our guests started asking about the chicken wings… We were given all the pizza boxes and one bag which included our salad and garlic bread. There were no wings…

I called again to ask if they missed the wings. The person taking the orders promised they were made and that he’d call the delivery driver. He calls me back to say he spoke with the driver and they were delivered… which they weren’t. No offer of refund, discount, help, remaking and delivering the wings. (I did start off with the fact we had already waited 90 minutes and folks didn’t want to wait for the wings - just cut us loose and let us go. Instead, I just got a “call back on Sunday when the owner is in.”

Like I said, we love Duccini’s and the food is usually good. But be careful with this location. They were slow (I’ve honestly never had to wait 90 minutes for pizza but maybe I’m lucky), pizza arrived barely warm, and the order was incomplete. Then, instead of helping, they gaslight you and want you to call back at a time when the staff who took care of the order aren’t around so there’s no one to confirm, deny, or help you find resolution.

I would ONLY recommend calling in and picking up. Check your items and make sure you’re charged properly! The food is great but the service, delivery, and integrity are highly questionable after tonight. I’m sad to say I’m going to have to give up on one of my favorite pizza places in DC. The pizza is SSOOOOOO GOOD!!! But only when the owner is there! There has been about three different instances where I was dissatisfied by the quality of my pizza after having STUPENDOUS JUMBO SLICES!! They would give me pizza that’s not fresh but still edible however the quality goes down about 40%! I just called and asked how long for fresh pizza, he ignored me proceeding to ask my order.. I told him my order but let him know that the last time I had a slice it wasn’t fresh so that’s why I’m asking you how long for fresh pizza. His response “we don’t have fresh pizza right now” 😳⁉️ i clarify one time to make sure I understood him correctly asking him, “so, there’s no wait time for fresh pizza??” He says no! Sooo I asks him for the owner and guess what? HE WASNT THERE! He’s out doing deliveries!! Long story short he didn’t want to give me his name and hung up on me as I told him that I’ll be speaking with his boss but it’s ok because I will be there in person to speak with the very nice owner who understands and has great customer service!! I need his hours so I can only order...

Stopped by for a late-night bite while on a work trip and unfortunately had a very negative experience. The woman at the register was extremely rude, nasty attitude, and unprofessional. When we asked questions about their pizza specials, she responded by yelling and seemed irritated by basic questions. Then to put the cherry on top she felt the need to speak in her native language about us and the rest of the customers.

To make matters worse, we were given the wrong food due to them changing the menu and having the old menu still posted. The price changed and were didn’t mind. When we pointed it out, she refused to correct the order or offer any kind of solution. Thankfully, one of the male employees was much more helpful and tried to assist us, but she continued to be loud and confrontational.

I don’t recommend you go. If you do go MAKE SURE TO NOT GET THE SPECIAL.

Customer service matters, and this experience left a bad impression. Definitely would...
