OMG. OMG. OMG. This is the CUTEST ice cream place Iâve been to in awhile. Nearing the end of a family vacation, I really wanted to take a little trip up to the town of Duck, just because it sounded adorable. It did not disappoint. I picked the ice cream Pl., Wheezyâs off Google maps, because the name made me smile and reminded me of the 70s/80s show The Jeffersons. :)
Wheezyâs has merch shirts for sale in bubblegum pop colors with a Frenchie dog and a duck on them, and serves many flavors of Hersheyâs ice cream. Staff was friendly and indulged my curiosity about the store name: Wheezy was not in fact a French Bulldog as a thought, but the ownerâs brother in law. Why? Not sure, but its the name that brought me in! Def stop for pizza across the courtyard too, if your kids are hungry, like I did. The 12â pie with six slices was a perfect amount to tide them over at 5:30 till a late night dinner...
Read moreI canât believe Iâm writing a review for an ice cream shop, but here we are. Avoid at all costs. The woman who owns this place is one of the most unpleasant people Iâve ever encountered. She refused to give my child a sample , yelled at people for entering her store and âletting the air conditioning inâ, and essentially made what is generally expected to be a happy family experience terrible. We have been going to Duck for decades. We loved the old ice cream shop in loblolly pines. Itâs so sad that this new shop exists in such a happy town. Go across the street to either Hawaiian Island Snowballs (they have great ice cream!) or Big Bucks, please! ...
Read moreGot here late, with 4 grandchildren. The two young ladies behind counter were not to enthused that we were there. Had a mediocre variety, I would have expected a wider range being at OBX. Portions were not generous. No tables inside, no tables outside, no lights outside, no bathroom. Asked young ladies to turn on lights we had little children with us and it was dark. She shrugged her shoulders and said...I don't own the building..... What are we teaching our youth as a society? The picture I attached is black cause it was pitch black outside. I would recommend going farther down towards Duck...
