Rosie O'Hare's Public House — Restaurant in Dundee Township

I've eaten here a few times, and I am comfortable calling this place is one of my favorite places in Dundee / Carpentersville.

The burger (which is called The Burger) is a good bar burger, but its price is where it really stands out, sitting $5 cheaper than its local competition, and when it comes down to it, that is the need this place fills. There are a ton of restaurants in Dundee these days, and not all of them are particularly affordable. Rosie O'Hare is good and affordable.

The place is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, but one you get inside it is anything but quiet. Also they have a patio that offers a view of the river.

Maybe it isn't ideal for a family dinner. Everytime I've been there, there seems to be a patron or two who is at the end of the bar in "too high of spirit" if you understand my meaning - even at 5 PM. But it is a great place for adults to meet and have a good meal without feeling underdressed.

Finally, the staff is super friendly, but service isn't always quick. Everytime I've been there, there has been one waitress and one bartender. Hopefully you find the atmosphere inviting enough that you won't be in...

I was at the slot machine, I was informed my someone(who is the owners wife) the machine didn’t work. There was no sign on the machine and I lost money because of that. I asked her if I could could have a piece of tape with a sign to put on the machine machine and her response was “I don’t have time for that.” I was trying to help her, that was the most inappropriate response I’ve ever gotten from anyone, let alone an owner.

This is a follow up, thats exactly what you said. I had two of my family members sitting next to me. On top of that the tables sitting next to me called you a Karen. Saying”didn’t she under stand you were just trying to help her out.” You were extremely unprofessional. It was a great a night until we got here. By FAR the rudest staff we’ve ever encountered. Disrespectful and ill-mannered for absolutely no reason. Some of us actually thought it was one of those places where they’re purposely rude to you but quickly realized they were simply being distasteful. They had no manners. I almost had to think twice before trying to order a drink because it felt like I was bothering them. They acted as if we had interrupted whatever they were doing before we got there (the place was dead before we got there). Absolutely no respect to guests.
