Stirling Wine — Restaurant in Dunedin

We went to this small Quant Wine Bar while at the Craft Festival today February 19, 2022. Worst service ever...we didn't order wine which may be a reason we were not waited on immediately for food...there were 2 waitresses and a bartender attending to mostly people having drinks...someone I was with had to go to the bar to get menus...we waited about 20 minutes for a waitress to take our order, we waited over a half hour and no food yet, we had a simple order and the food list is not extensive, when we saw that people who came in after us were getting their food we got the attention of one waitress, not the one who took our order, and she said she would check on it, that didn't happen because she went straight back to the bar area, then someone else came by and happened to ask how we were and we told her we were waiting half hour for our food and my mom is diabetic, she said she would look into it, again she went straight back to the bar, then our waitress came over and offered my mom some crackers and said that the kitchen was backed up with orders so she told the kitchen to hold off on her orders, which was odd to do but also wrong because other tables she waited on who came in after us got their food before us...she said she would check on the order, so we waited and waited another 20 minutes...during that time the 3 people we told about the issue could have put our order in again, so we said we wanted the check for the one iced tea and 2 waters that were ordered, our waitress came over and said she was sorry, that the order was on the house for the mix up, so we thought okay that was nice and thought our food would be coming out, nope, the waitress then said, sorry that you will be leaving don't worry about the iced tea...so if you are really hungry or don't order drinks don't bother to go in, because you will be disappointed...and we actually were looking forward to trying their unique...

I purchased a one year couples (two members) membership and honestly this location is not inviting nor polite, especially today on 04/22/17. Today was a wine tasting event, which no email was sent to my email or fiance's, nor did the staff today offer wine samples or atleast even make her or her friend slightly feel welcomed today. Also, we were there last week and why weren't we told or advised of the upcoming wine tasting event? When it comes to wine sampling, if it's a slow month or week, don't expect them to open a bottle to sample, as they will tell you, "per owner, we can't." They don't tell you that at membership sign up, which isn't fair or acceptable. Also, to learn that my membership is up in April 2017 (not per card) and they tell my fiance, "it's expired this month and that's why you received two bottles," very arrogantly (see photograph). I am completely honest and this message is not vindictive or false, as I am stating true facts for new members or future members. I also don't understand why this business can tell that your membership expires this month, which it didn't and not even offer or suggest you the option to renew it? Please see their selection, as I have learned they are approximately $9-$11 over retail cost. I am extremely disappointed, as the location is great, but the service is a no go. Again only speaking of the truth and of our very recent experiences here. So yes, I am shorted two (2) bottles of wine in the 12 month period....I can assure you, I will not recommend this location. Didn't receive a one rating star, since we were treated nice for the first two visits. Thanks...

We had a decent group of us (about 8 of us) there for St Patrick's Day. We had barstools outside and had been there since roughly noon time until 4 ish. They had a cart outside with beer and wine for sale, which we were constantly buying from. Well when we went inside to use the restroom the bartender inside went off on us telling us we had to be paying customers to use the restroom. We had literally just purchased a round of drinks for us and it was outside on the table, because who brings their beer or wine to the bathroom? That's just disgusting. We told the lady we had full drinks outside and she said oh well you have to buy another one or leave. We were not going to buy another drink when we already had a mostly full one outside that we already bought from you all outside. She then got argumentative and continued on to talk poorly to other customers in the bathroom about us. Each of us in our party probably spent close to $100 (that's $100 each!) with how much we bought drinks from you all. That behaviour was unacceptable and completely rude. We have came to your place numerous times and have loved it each time, but now we will not be returning anymore. I get it that it was a holiday and all but we weren't just some slob off the street coming to use your restroom. We did not deserve that treatment at all. Absolutely...
