China House — Restaurant in Dunnellon

China house is Dunnellon, FL is a rip off. They’re over charging for switching rices without letting you know. The prices are not on the menu for switching foods. I asked the young lady why is was not on the menu and she said “if we would put the change prices on the menu it would be a book” so that mean they can make up the prices at any time without it being on the menu and not make you aware of it all, ever. The chicken wings are not Chinese restaurant wings, they look like Winn Dixie Chicken wings, very small and salty. The gravy for the egg foo young does not come on the egg foo young and also isn’t Chinese recipe gravy, it’s regular Brown powder gravy. It’s disgusting. This is the 3rd time that I ask for a specific dish, for example, we asked for mixed steamed veggies and they gave brown gravy covered mixed veggies and charged me for the meal. They also forgot the egg roll that comes with my general tso combo platter. General tso chicken was old, dry, and barely had meat in the breading. We have eaten here a few times over the years and its been hit or miss. Definitely better Chinese take out joints, but in Dunnellon you're limited. This particular evening we had a late event and a long day. We enjoy takeout 🥡 when we are too exhausted to prepare meals at home. And tonight was one of those nights. We ordered food for 6. Totaling $94.16. We arrived and ordered @8:30p. Half hour to closing. Our order was prepared and we were out the door within 15 mins. Super fast. Bags hot and steamy. We get home and everyone sits to eat and found if your not a fast eater all you got was rubber rice and gristle meat with chewy egg rolls. 50% of the food was trashed. DEFINITELY MICROWAVED!! Was hoping to have a couple lunches left. But most of the food was inedible to even finish getting full 😞. We decided to give this place a try because we had goten a flyer in the mail from them. We live 25 minutes away. We olaced two separate orders. First order was made correct but was charged amost 35 bucks for 2 combination platers and garlic wings. Sesame chicken was dry along with the beef lomane they didnt even cut the beef up just laid big peaces on top. Honestly it taste like they had made a bunch of food earlier in the day and just reheated it. The gsric sauce on the wings was not spicy at all n the sauce was burnt n wayyyyyyyy to much garlic chunks. My second order was just 2 combination platers with lomane instead of rice. Got home an no lomane it was shrimp fried rice that was all dryed out. With that order it was 28 bucks. Combination paters are 8.75 they charged amost 4 bucks extra for the lomane on all the orders. Thats crazy hong kong in crystal river charges 1.50 And wayyyyy better food. I will never return. Charge way to much for dryed out...
