LaRue's Ice Cream LLC — Restaurant in Dunnellon

I'll start by saying I am not usually a milkshake person but I have been watching competitive eating channels on YouTube the last few weeks and many of the challenges have milkshakes and its had me craving one! Fast forward today and I found LaRues ice cream parlor, with a glowing ICE CREAM sign above it and tucked away behind a wendys.

Inside the shop is small and cheerfully colored, with plenty of ice cream flavors behind the glass to choose from. A variety of styles from cones to milkshakes, sundaes and splits are available ranging from around 4 to 8 dollars on average.

The staff was super friendly and welcoming and they put together my chosen strawberry cheesecake while training a new staff member. After some whip cream and cherry action I paid and went off on my way. The milkshake itself was delicious and easy to suck down the extra wide straw they provide. Really enjoyable experience at this little hometown ice cream shop and next time ill have to bring some children to justify...

This little shop is ticked back in the plaza next to Aldi’s. Easy access in and out… Unfortunately, the young girl behind the counter was not real friendly or outgoing. A lady that was sitting at a table helping another customer did get up and come back and she was very helpful and outgoing (that helped our visit tremendously).

As an Ice Cream Expert that travels the country looking for good ice cream I can say the flavors were ok. Dulce de Leche was a good balanced flavor. Chocolate Raspberry Truffle was good but it was a little icy. The waffle cone had good flavor. I would have liked it a little more crispy and warm.

Came in to grab a couple milkshake while my wife was napping in our beautiful airbnb. I was feeling the pressure cause I always get the wrong flavor, I went with 2 flavors I think she likes and hope- unfortunately there's a misunderstanding and the person serving me thinks I want one milkshake with both of those flavors. But before I could even say anything (I tasted it and was going to just ask for one more with one flavor) I was told to wait. That my milkshakes would be coming right up, they clarified the order a second time and I doubled my tip. They also offered me the extra milkshake-
