J. Christopher's — Restaurant in Dunwoody

Let's see where to begin with this place. It is a breakfast and brunch place with absolutely awful decor. The art on the walls doesn't make sense at all. I was there today, Sunday, and when you go in there are TWO people up front doing absolutely nothing at all. This is important because while there seats available, it took 5 minutes for us to be seated. I have been to, owned, and or reviewed restaurants in Atlanta, Miami, Lot Angeles, Chicago, Paris, Barcelona, Rome, and other places so I know a little about how things should go. I ordered corned beef hash and my spouse order roasted potatoes/hash browns. Simple enough as breakfast food is very difficult to mess up. My corned beef hash came out cold and basically seemed to have been taken out if the can put on my plate. My spouse's potatoes were overcooked and burned. We brought this to the server's attention and it took 10 minutes to get a correction after taking 10 minutes to get the server's attention. The server, who is named Zach/Zack, was personable and very good. The only good thing about this place. However, he was working all over the restaurant due to what I assume was a lack of personnel. I remind you of the two people up front taking up space. When an order needs to be corrected then it should garner the immediate attention of the kitchen and not be placed in any queue. When we were ready to leave, we gave the check to the server and it took another 10 minutes to get our credit card back. Again, he was very good but the poor management of the place and spectacularly underwhelming food leaves a lot to be desired. Do not go here. We had a terrible experience here today. I came for breakfast with my boyfriend and another couple and the service and manager were so horrible and uncomfortable that we will never go again. As I was still eating my food, 6 separate times people tried to take my plate from me when I was literally putting food in my mouth. It felt like we were being rushed out of the restaurant. And then the manager (I’m assuming) came up to our table and tried to take my plate and I told him I was still eating, and he proceeded to make a face and say “wow okay keep going” like I was eating a huge amount of food. Rather than leaving he stayed at the table and commanded my boyfriend to get on his phone (while we were all trying to eat and enjoy each other’s company) and go to the site and leave a good review. He didn’t bother to ask us if we enjoyed the food or had a good experience, he simply told us to leave a good review at that very moment. His tone was so demanding and condescending and he would not leave the table until my boyfriend actually got on his phone and started typing. We were all so amazed at how horrible and rude he was. Our server also forgot to bring us a few things, but she was at least polite. Overall, this was an experience we never want to have again and wont be back. Do not eat here unless you want to be...

I ordered a sausage and gravy skillet, eggs Christopher, a chocolate chip pancake and a side of bacon. The only good part of this food was the bacon. The biscuits were soft and undercooked nearly raw, the potatoes were raw, and the egg on the Benedict was overcooked and not runny at all. The pancake I had was CRUNCHY.

The sausage and gravy skillet we ordered is not what we got, we received the skillet with the bacon, bleu cheese, sun dried tomatoes and spinach. When calling to complain about the order, they refused to refund us without going into the physical location and bringing back all of the food untouched for a refund.

I even explained that I live an hour away and just coming back wasn’t an option and the manager of the location said she wouldn’t do anything without all of the food untouched in its original form brought back for a refund.

If you’re going to go to J Christopher’s, go to the one in Woodstock. It is the ONLY good location I’ve had and the customer service at this location was enough to make me never want to come back, the hostility the manager showed at their own facilities mistakes...
