Let me preface this comment by saying that prior to last night’s visit, my family and I have had nothing but great experiences at Vintage Pizzeria Dunwoody. Customer service is huge for me and each time we’ve dined in, we’ve always been greeted with a smile and professionalism. The taste of the food and portion sizes are also great. So much so that when my parents came in town to visit, we took them here because my dad wanted pizza & my mom wanted salad and pasta. We’ve also ordered takeout twice which was also great.
For these reasons, last night’s experience was very disappointing. We ordered a large pizza with pepperoni with pineapples added to one half, lasagne w/ garlic bread & caesar salad), hot wings and a cheesesteak. While most of the food tasted great, the experience, and the pizza that was presented last night left much to be desired. Pizza: The pizza tasted great, however for a pizza that was supposed to have pepperoni on the whole thing two of the slices on the non-pineapple side had no pepperoni on them at all. It was late and we were about to leave, so my son just said don’t worry about it. Those were the last two slices, so what were we going to do anyway? Ask for 2 slices with pepperoni to be made? No. As I was eating my lasagne which tasted great as usual, I immediately had to stop after cutting another section off to eat and finding a blonde hair baked into the lasagne. Our server wasn’t around, so we gave it to another employee who asked me if I wanted another one made. My disgust at finding a blonde hair baked into my lasagne made me want to say no, but I was hungry so I said yes, please. I would like to believe that another one was made or there was a whole pan already made in the kitchen because it’s a popular item, but my replacement came out quickly. What bothers me about the situation is that no manager/supervisor came over to apologize, the lasagne wasn’t comped or discounted, nothing! Maybe if I had been loud and boisterous there would’ve been a different outcome, but I don’t operate that way. So, we just paid our bill and left. I left very disappointed last night and ended up taking my lasagne home because I was scared I’d find more hair. To be honest I’m still hesitant to eat it. Dear management, things happen but someone really should’ve come over to speak with us about the situation, comped it or at least offered a percentage off. As a small business owner myself, this was the right thing to do. After all it was a long piece of hair and not mine, as I don’t have blonde hair. The only person that apologized and even spoke to me about it was the employee who brought the original to the kitchen, not even our server yet we STILL tipped him.
UPDATE (see restaurant’s response below): Thank you Vintage Pizzeria for your response, accountability and the refund. All of it is greatly...
Read moreVintage Pizza has been one of my favorites and I have been going to the Chamblee location since they opened. Unfortunately, the three times that my husband and I have been to the VP in Dunwoody we have had abominable service. The first time was right after they opened so we excused that, but last night's horrible service experience compels me to write this review. My husband organized a group of neighbors to get together, some of us ate, some just wanted a couple of drinks (if they could get one). The food was delicious but we constantly had to ask for water - which never arrived, refills on cocktails - which never arrived, one of the waiters, Al, came to our table chewing on food and had a rather surly attitude. We had to ask for plates to be cleared and repeat drink orders. When the check came, it was oddly divided into three separate checks, which we did not request, so people that didn't eat were charged a third of the food. All in all, an experience that left all of us saying we didn't think we would be back. There was one female waitress that was very attentive but I do not know her name. I would also like to mention that I saw a patron at another table get up once to get napkins from the bar and also to take his bill up for payment. The restaurant was not at all crowded so that was not an excuse. I truly hope that the owner can get a grip on...
Read moreHello. We had a terrible experience at Vintage tonight. We had a party of five around 6:30pm. The host and hostess were lovely. It took our server a significant amount of time to come to our table. When he arrived he acted put out and irritated to take our order. My 13 year old daughter is very soft spoken and he embarrassed her and was extremely condescending telling her to speak up multiple times. He refused to lean over much less walk over to her side of the table to hear her. Instead he mocked her and embarrassed her for not speaking loud enough even though she was trying to order on her own. She is home in tears. She had a friend with us at dinner and she was so embarrassed. After we ordered we received our food by other servers and the food was good. Our server never came back. We ate our dinner with completely empty drinks. We never received the water we asked for. We finally got up to get him so we could get to go boxes and our check. We left a small tip mainly for the food runners and host who were great. We have been coming to Vintage since you opened and can’t imagine coming back again nor recommending it to others as we have often done. Your food is good. Usually your service is good. Please do better. Please treat...
