VERY Disappointed - spent $100 per head for 4 people expecting to learn - - For the amount of money I spent I could have done surf and turf in my own Kitchen. WE took a cooking class on Friday January 20th. "Chef" Michelle was the lead - she explained that she was called a chef because her boyfriend - also with Vino Venue - told her she did not need to go to culinary school - she knew enough. I know a bit about medicine but would never ask someone to call me "DR".
Her sous chef - had no idea what he was doing.
She handed out recipes - told us to pick which food we wanted to prepare and that the ingredients were pre measured for us. Meanwhile the wine girl - just kept wanting us to drink more - many of us had to continue to refuse her wanting to get us "toasted" #1 - the recipe had numerus mistakes #2 - the ingredients were not measure correctly - for example - not enough broth to cook the rice, we were told to just eyeball a few other ingredients - we made a chicken dish - and it did turn out good because my son and I know how to and like to cook. We did not get to experience prepping the entire meal - this was disappointment. the recipe for the salad dressing that was made by someone else - had no flavor - we had to add a lot to it to then make it good. Black bean soup recipe was...
Read moreAs a wino, I fully support and approve of this place. This is one of my favorite wine spots in Atlanta. The enomatic wine dispensers are 5 stars on their own. The ability to create your own tasting is awesome. You put money on a card and can pour yourself a taste, half or full glass of various reds, whites and high end reds. It can add up fast if you like to taste. They do regular deals of getting a $20 credit for $15. As tempting as it may be, use your glass and refrain from taking the dispensers straight to the head.
The Saturday tastings from 3-5pm are fun and a great time way to spend a Saturday afternoon. We've been to a couple and for $15 it's a great value. There are usually 6-8 wines they are pouring. It's casual and you can go at your own pace.
They hold all kinds of events, check their online calendar. We attended their Italian event - all Italian wine and food - it was fantastic!
After hearing a friend's experience, I really want to take a cooking and/or wine class there. It is also home of the Atlanta Wine School and you can get certified beginner, intermediate and advanced wine education. A girl can dream! I'm a sommelier in my own mind.
Oh, and the food is pretty delicious! I've tried a few of their bites and was pleasantly surprised at what's going on in...
Read moreI wish I could say something positive about my experience with Vino Venue but I simply cannot. This past weekend I had reservations for a cooking class with my wife. I paid nearly $200. Unfortunately she came down with the stomach bug and we could attend the class. She was recovering but did not feel well enough nor wanted to risk spreading a virus to any patrons at the restaurant. I exchanged emails with the Director of Education requesting some consideration to reschedule and was cited policy saying no refunds. I understood and asked if I could could get a gift certificate or credit towards the restaurant that night. A mere takeout order would have made us happy and feel better about a disappointing date night. Response was the same. As a first time customer this has turned me off completely. All I Have is a bitter taste of poor customer service. Vino Venue. Your welcome for the $200 involuntary donation. My friends went that night and enjoyed it. Wish I could have experienced that another wknd. I’d like to think Vino Venue is better than this, but can assure you the Director of Education is clearly not. You’ve lost my business as well as my friends. Be more flexible in giving your customers a chance to enjoy your...
