Grecian Gyro – Dunwoody
I’ve been coming to this location for over 10 years, and it continues to be my favorite spot for authentic Greek food in the Atlanta area. Their slogan, “Once a Week, Go Greek!” has become a personal mantra.
My go-to order is the Gyro Wrap with extra tzatziki sauce—truly the tastiest around—alongside either a mini Greek Salad or their Grecian potatoes. The food is always fresh, the meat is cut straight from the vertical rotisserie, and the seasoning is spot on every time. If I’ve got room, I’ll treat myself to the Baklava, which is always a perfect ending.
One visit really stuck with me—I'd asked to hold the tomatoes, and a gentleman behind the counter smiled and said, “Hey, my family grew those tomatoes—are you sure you don't want to try them?” Even though I’ve never been a fan of tomatoes, I gave them a shot—and sure enough, they were incredibly fresh and surprisingly good. That moment captures the pride and care this place puts into every ingredient.
Growing up in Detroit, I spent plenty of time in Greektown—especially at Hellas back in the day—and I can confidently say Grecian Gyro delivers that same authenticity and warmth. It’s easily the best Greek food in Georgia. And with six locations across Metro Atlanta, they’re consistently delivering great service and delicious food wherever you go.
The only thing missing is a sizzling plate of Saganaki—“Opa!”—but thankfully, my family has learned how to make it at home.
Highly recommend for anyone craving quality Greek...
Read moreWhen I say I have such a hate HATE relationship for this location. They have the best falafels! I’m only giving a 2 because the falafel is good. And with a big BUT, every time I have ordered, whether it be online or in store they insist on adding SAUCE every time (the ticket clearly says NO sauce)! I do not eat dairy whatsoever so I’m not sure why they can’t get this right. I wasted so much time at this place waiting on orders to be fixed when I placed it correctly! One time I came to the store to pick up an online order for lunch, drive back to work, realized they gave me a falafel wrap WITH sauce, drove back to Grecian Gyro and they actually gave my order to another customer. And said I would have to wait, which at that point would’ve made me late going back to worked so I starved, then after work came back to get my original order. I became so known for them messing up my order that every time I came back Mike (not sure if he’s still the manager) would apologize to me. So I stopped going...for almost a year and I return TODAY ready to pick up my online falafel order with NO sauce and once again...they messed up my order. I will never recommend this place to anyone because at this point, clearly following instructions isn’t even a necessity. God forbid I...
Read moreUpdate: Changing my review to 5-Stars as I’ve returned a few times since. They got me back in the door with Nick’s Birthday June 22nd! I noticed at that time they had increased the portion size. I’ve still just stuck with the gyros. The flavor has always been there so no complaints on that!
Previous Review: The gyros flavors are there, the portion size is way overpriced. I’m from WI, our pitas don’t even close for less. Here, you can only see the meat from the little that may stick out from the sides. The pita actually wraps around the meat. The amount is comparable to a hotdog/sausage. I thought getting extra meat would help. As much as I paid for the meat, I should have at minimum gotten double! The steak however is a 0/10. No flavors. Nothing. Not giving. A waste of my money. The staff have been friendly. The gyros definitely tastes great, but with the price of living it isn’t worth it for the portion...
