Wildcats is a neighborhood bar/restaurant which I have come to love and admire. It's a survivor! A survivor of corona disaster, and a survivor of the many, many competitive bars and restaurants which surround Wildcats.
But, I know why it's surviving, and even thriving - great bar food (with a hint of Mediterranean in many of the items), decent mixed drinks, and warm atmosphere.
Wildcats is located in an older strip mall, just off of 35E. It's open until late night, unlike other bars and restaurants in the area. Although the beer selection on tap is very limited (and I'm a beer drinker), their mixed drinks are very popular and inexpensive.
I love their special burger deal on Monday nights - An enormous burger, grilled to perfection, on a nicely grilled bun. Extras on the burger cost a bit more, but the price starting at $5 is hard to beat. Their onion rings (seriously) are the best onion rings I've ever had - they must have a really hot fryer - the rings are firm, and oh so crispy. Perfect!
They have a smallish covered patio, jutting out into the parking lot in front of the restaurant. I've been to Wildcats 4 or 5 times now, and it's almost always very crowded. Everyone is festive, and the staff knows most of the patrons. Small town atmosphere!
I give Wildcats 5 star for the easy parking, small patio, great drink and food specials per day, the wonderfully grilled burgers they sell, and the festive and lively atmosphere. The staff is also amazing too! I give beer selection a 2.5, though; this is a hard liquor joint, only a few stock beers on tap. I usually stick to Grainbelt Nordeast. It's easy drinking. I also like their Moscow Mules....
Read moreWent for lunch on May 14 2024 and was very disappointed. I ordered the chicken finger basket. The chicken fingers were mostly breading. The french fries were limp and even the seasoned sour cream was not good. A fountain drink cost $3.50 which I thought was ridiculous. I was there with my adult son, however who had a burger and he said it was good. I haven’t been to Wildcats to eat for quite some time and last time I was there I ordered chicken fingers and they were huge. I was really disappointed in the food that to me was horrible, and I am not a picky eater whatsoever. The restaurant itself was really quiet. There was only about five people in it, which I myself enjoyed and we sat at the bar to eat. The bartender was nice, but there were times when we were ready to order or to get our bill and he was engaged in a conversation with someone sitting down the bar and wasn’t being as attentive as he should have been for how...
Read moreThis was the worst restaurant visit I have even had. We ordered our food, nachos as a appetizer..YUCK! But waitress brought our lunch and then the appetizer right after. Never once did Tanya the waitress come to check on us to see if we neeeded anything, or just ask how the food was. She had a horrible attitude. I ran out of water half way through my meal and wasn't asked if I wanted a refill. Once we were done we pushed our plates aside thinking she might come ask us if we wanted our check or possibly needed anything. But instead she proceeded to greet two other customers and continued walking past our table, so we asked her for our check, and that is when she said how was everything! If I would have told her what I wanted to she prolly would have cried!! I will never return here, nor will I recommend it to anyone else! Oh and needless to say but my order wasnt made correct...
