Stopped here with my mom for lunch the other day. First thing we noticed when we walked in was that the air had no odor. You know how some places smell like the stale oil in the frier, food smoke, or just some kind of air fresheners? Not this place, which was nice. The restaurant was very clean, well lit, had a lot of cute homey touches for Halloween, and the staff was very pleasant. It was relatively empty due to the hour but when we left more people were coming in. The food? Oh jeez, it was so good! I haven't had Perkins in roughly 10 years, and it was delicious. I had the country fried steak (breakfast option) and mom had an omelette. (forget which one). You get a ridiculous amount of food, and it's very very fresh. Burned my mouth on the breakfast potatoes more than once because I was too impatient and they were too good. We each took half of our food home, and I'm happy to say it tasted just as good the next day haha Mom even got a slice of the berry pie to go. The waitress gave her a heaping serving of whipped cream on the side, too. Mom called me just to tell me how good it was once she ate it haha Definitely...
Read moreI had a TERRIBLE experience here. I normally love Perkins breakfast, and I am a regular customer at the Perkins in HAZLET (which is great by the way). However, I happened to be in E.B. a few weeks back, so I decided to dine at this location.
HUGE MISTAKE. When I walked in, the place was mostly empty and there were only 2 tables seated. However, the hostess at the desk still didn’t acknowledge us for 10 minutes.
When we finally were seated, no one came by to take our order for an additional 15 minutes. Granted, maybe they were waiting for us to look over the menu and decide for 5 of those minutes. Finally, a young gentleman did finally take our order, the same thing I always order at Perkins.
About 20 minutes later, the young boy comes by to tell me his manager, ALFONZO, told me I could order off the 55+ because he was making the assumption I was not 55 (I’m 49). My husband however, was allowed to order off of the 55 and up menu.
I have ALWAYS ordered this with my husband at Perkins.
Why did Alfonzo wait 20 minutes to say something?
Why was I...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped here to grab a quick lunch while we were on the go. I ordered an egg white omelette and when I received it there was a hair in the egg. So our waitress apologized and brought me another plate. No problem. Well half way through my meal I again found another hair in my omelette. So the waitress went to get her manager and he told us it looked it was a fuzz?? But that he was going to take it off the bill anyway. I wish I would've taken pictures because they both were clearly hairs and insulting our intelligence on the difference between what a fuzz and a hair looks like was extremely unprofessional. Hair or fuzz it was still in my food and to make matters worse I am 5 months pregnant. I will never ever go back to this location and I would warn others from going as well as I now question the cleanliness of the...
