BJ's Wholesale Club — Restaurant in East Hempfield Township

I went there today to shop and as I went to check out, I was informed that my membership had expired and that it would be $60 to renew it. I thought that that was too much because last time I think I paid like $25. The cashier told me that I could go to customer service to see if they had any discounts. When I got to the service desk, a young lady by the name of Kimberly spoke with me briefly and then asked the manager (Sean, Shawn Not sure how to spell his name) about any discounts and he kind of rolled his eyes at me and looked down and said no, so she told me to check Groupon, I was able to renew my membership for only $30. She then directed me to another lady at the service desk to Print out a new card for me. When I got to the desk, this woman was ranting about how the printer was down so I showed her the barcode that I had and asked her if I could use this to check out she barked at me for what in a very nasty hostile voice, so I said to her (Stephanie) to check out and she was like well I don’t know what that is. So I said to her that’s fine but you don’t have to be rude or nasty so then I just walked over back to the checkout. Kim came over and gave me a piece of paper that had my new membership number on it. Moral of the story hire more Kim’s and less of the other people (Sean, Stephanie). I was fully prepared to put all of my things back and leave the store because one I did not want to pay $60. I recently received an offer for membership from BJ's. I went to the store today to peruse the aisles trying to decide if I would like to join. Met a young man that worked there. Chatted with him a little bit about the store. He was very pleasant and helpful. So I decided to join. I went over to the membership desk, and there was a woman waiting on a couple who wanted to sign up for membership. There was another woman talking to a man who had a box full of, what I assume, was returning merchandise. The woman that was selling the membership obviously is on commission, because she was trying to upsell them to the BJ's credit card, and she was chatting away with these people like they were old friends. However, based upon the conversation, I knew that they did not know each other previous to this. The other woman was talking to the other person for quite a while and took the merchandise in. When he left I waited but received no acknowledgment from either woman. The woman with the merchandise walked it over to the back and started unpacking it. Again, not even acknowledging my presence and the woman selling the membership was really trying to upsell these people that were there. I'll bet that I stood there for 10 minutes and I finally got disgusted and walked out. I am really questioning whether or not I want to be involved with a business that has such pathetic...

I have been a member with BJ's since 2010. The only reason why stayed with them is because Cosco doesnt have Pampers diapers. My deal breaker and one star is because i got accused of stealing on 03/03/16. My 1yr old daughter threw up in the car as i was on my way there. I get to the store brab somethings that were on my way to the clothing section. I grab the outfit, went to the register, PAID for it and told the cashier that i was paying the outfit first because my baby threw up but that i was still shopping so i was going to pay the rest when i am done. She said it was fine, and to go ahead and change her. I go to the bathroom, but leave the cart outside (obviously). The manager goes in the bathroom, but when i walkout she goes out too. I made my way to the customer service since i forgot my book, and the lady tells me "You just changed the baby in the bathroom, did u paid for that!" I told her yes i did, the register that was right in front them, and showed her my recipt as proof of payment. She saw me go in the restroom but didnt saw me pay for it???! I have never been so disrespected in my life. For that reason, i will never go...
