Coffee Co - MillCreek — Restaurant in East Lampeter Township

I really wanted to like this place because my husband and I are sick of chain restaurants. We are retired and enjoy going out to lunch. Well, I was very disappointed. We were greeted by a server within seconds of sitting down which was a plus. She was very nice. Another plus. She brought our drinks and took our order promptly. Again, another and sadly, the last plus. We were at this restaurant after 1:00 pm. There were customers but not enough to have to wait over 30 minutes for 2 sandwiches! No strange order. Nothing special. Just sandwiches! I finished my coffee and my husband finished his ice tea long before our order came out. Server NEVER asked if we wanted refill or apologized for the long wait.finally our order arrived. I ordered a grilled chicken called a 501. Well unless you have very very strong teeth, you can’t eat this! The chicken was so dry and over cooked! The mayo helped, the roll was good, but not worth the price. I left most of it. My husband ordered a Reuben. It was tasty, but small! Hardly any meat for 9.00! And no fries, just chips! Ok, so we get the check and we were never told that if we were paying cash, we had to give it to the server, but credit cards go to register! So we stood at the register like 2 dopes while the cashier chatted up the 2 young women who she obviously knew. Well, we hand her our bill and she said “ oh sorry, I only take credit cards”. The whole experience was just exhausting. There are plenty of places to eat around here, we are locals, and as much as I wanted to like this place, it was not worth it. The service here is HORRENDOUS. No one greets YOU AT ALL. I asked if the bar had open seating, they seemed to not know how to answer me. A lovely couple had to be the ones to tell me I could sit because they sat without waiting. Then I had to ask for a menu after waiting 10 minutes. Then nothing. I never been here before and came for the good reviews, but I am very confused how they got them. No one makes eye contact with me, I just got tired of waiting. Why is there up to 5 employees and what seems like a manager behind the bar and no one asks if I've been helped. If the process was to walk to the cashier and order food, that was not clear and frankly should not be up to the customer to figure out how to navigate the establishment. I see people coming in waiting to be seated and not one of these employees are even telling them they'll be right with them. No one is being greeted or acknowledged. I overheard employees complaining that "omg, they just keep coming". Strange thing to say when you're getting business... Can't rate the food or beverages, well because I didn't get anything. The nice couple next to me seem to be enjoying their food though. I came super hungry, left hungry, and wasted my time. I'm currently writing the review while I sit and wait, and guess what. I didn't enjoy anything at this place! I had been wanting to try it ... went in for breakfast coffee and tea was very weak... ordered street corn hash and the eggs were so hard I couldn't even cut them with a fork they were to be over easy. When I tired the egg it was lt was like a plastic texture and it was only cooked on one side. How do you screw up an egg so bad? Then the potatoes in the hash were like the pre shredded potatoes you can get at the store and when I tell you there was no brown or crispy parts to theses potatoes it's like they opened the bag and popped them in the microwave no seasoning hash is supposed to be brown and crispy this was truly awful!! The pancakes were edible but nothing special. If I owned this place I would be so embarrassed to have my customers experience the meal I just had .... it's breakfast it shouldn't be that hard and for a place to specialize in coffee I was expecting to be blown away by the coffee and I was so far from being blown away it had barely a coffee flavor.
