This hotel is still using single use plastics for the breakfast area. The worst part is each item (fork, knife etc) is individually wrapped in plastic! So disgustingly wasteful and horrible for our environment. BYO sustainable silverware if you come here or stay somewhere who has a spare thought for our future.
For the room… It was ok. The pillows were subpar but they give you so many of them you can make do. The Queen bed was ok for me, my husband said it was too soft for him and was sore in the morning.
My biggest complaint is the room was advertised to accommodate 5 guests. It said 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa bed but the pull out bed was uninhabitable. It was pure metal springs, no cushion at all, just a single piece of fabric covering metal springs. My children were crying just touching the bed. Nobody in their right mind could sleep in that. I feel ripped off and misled about this because we had to squeeze 5 people into 2 queen beds.
BYO soap if you like to feel clean after a shower. I couldn’t get their soap to even sud.
The AC was freezing cold which is great if you like a cold room.
The pool is a good temperature but very strong chemical odor, not sure if the numbers are in check. We survived though so it can’t be that bad.
Breakfast is typical for a budget hotel. I like the mini waffle maker. I found that using just enough mix to fill in the crevices made the best mini waffle. When we covered the squares the waffle was doughy and undercooked feeling. Everything was unsustainable though. Individually wrapped everything.
It certainly wasn’t somewhere to brag about or to share pictures of but it smelled fine, was clean enough, towels were good. Quiet enough, friendly enough and a good enough location. Great for $50-$75 a night, good for $75-$100 but anything over $100 a night is overpaying. If you care about the environment though definitely...
Read moreWe recently stayed here as a family with young children from 6/20-6/23 as we explored the Lancaster area.
Pros: Front desk staff was very kind and helpful. Room we stayed in (201) was very spacious. Plenty of parking — seems a lot of guests were on tours and arrived via tour bus. Great location for exploring Lancaster Area with kids Although there were signs everywhere posting the quiet hours which we assume indicates they have issues with guests causing excessive noise, we found the hotel to be incredibly quiet.
Cons: The hotel pool was freezing cold. My 1.5 year old was shivering almost immediately so we couldn’t use the pool during our stay which is always the highlight for our girls ages 1.5 + 5. The breakfast was terrible for a Choice Hotel — the same menu was offered every single morning with zero variety. (Fruit loops, Rice Krispies, cheerios, 2% milk, bananas, oranges, eggs, mostly dried out or hard sausage, waffles, strawberry yogurt, blueberry muffins and hard white bread.) For all the hotels we have stayed in we have always had hard boiled eggs, apples, oatmeal and a varied menu of breakfast meats as well as bagels, English muffins and variety of bread throughout the stay. Thankfully a wonderland Amish Bake Shop was recommended to us as well as a quick target stop to rectify the breakfast problem. Our room (201) was mostly clean until my daughter dropped a Lego under the bed and we found a used q-tip, a layer of dirt and a used water bottle under the bed. Additionally our tub did not drain the water well so we constantly showered in water up to our ankles. There was no toilet seat on our toilet to put down when you were done using it and the the shower was pitch dark inside and really requires additional lighting especially for an...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Just checked out this morning. It was our first time staying here. It took a few minutes to check in when we arrived. We had to wait a little bit because there was no one at the desk. Just a sign saying, we'll be back shortly. The girl who checked us in was very personable. The room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was the usual complimentary fare, but lacking compared to competitor's breakfasts. The scrambled eggs were bland and watery. Sausage links on both mornings we were there. No healthy choices or variety of breads. Just white bread. No bagels, English muffins etc. They did have mini blueberry muffins, which were good. The orange juice was very watered down. Coffee was adequate. |Sign in the elevator stating no servicing of the rooms due to staff shortage and covid practices. The hotel did have hand sanitizer dispensers, but sadly no hand sanitizer in them. |What disappointed me the most was the $1.50 a day charge for the safe located in the closet. I have stayed at higher end hotels and resorts that had safes in the rooms, but didn't charge their guests for them. I was surprised when I looked over my bill. On the way home after checking out, I read others comments saying it was for the hotel's liability cost for stolen property. I do not feel it's right to charge their guests to pay for the cost the hotel has to pay for their insurance. If you do stay at the hotel, please be aware of this charge ahead of time. Unfortunately, I will be staying at another hotel for our future trips to Lancaster because of this...
