This was a place of nightmares. Extremely horrible experience. Should've known how bad it was since it went downhill from the very beginning. As soon as i arrived at this location i had to wait about 20 minutes to check in because their systems were down. Walking to the room was pretty awkward. There were many people walking around dressed very "home like" and by the way they carried themselves there it gave the impression that they actually live there. Finding the room was an issue due to the fact that the numbers were missing. It took me and my fiance a while before we noticed the room number written by pen next to the door. Inside the room it got worse. There is a door connecting the room next door. The lock looked very cheap. Actually had to take the room's desk and pin it between the door and the wall just to feel safe. The entrance door did not reach the ground either. It was about 2 inches off. Had to place a towel underneath to have actual privacy. The bathroom door would not close. It was bigger than the frame itself. It had to be forced with so much force that you can see the bottom of it actually breaking from doing so. There was a huge hole on the ceiling that had some foam stuff sticking out of it. On the side of the bed it looked like blood stains. They also do not clean the rooms thoroughly. Couldn't use the coffee machine as there was old dirty filters left inside it. Also behind the night stand there was a huge spill of maybe dried up soda. (I hope that's what it was) The air conditioner was extremely loud. Banging sound nonstop. I tried tapping it a bit and shift it in place to maybe stop the sound and to my surprise the entire unit moved off the wall. It was not secured and locked in place. Anyone from the outside could push it in and enter the room through the hole in the wall. The clock in the room did not work. Could not set the time properly nor set an alarm. The tv had a constant flicker that never stopped either. The bed was extremely hard as well. I went to the front desk to complain, and funny enough, this is a non smoking location yet the lobby attendant was smoking right at the entrance a few feet away from the desk. Could not get a new room because there were no vacancies left. The room was also missing a hair dryer even though it stated theyre would be one. When i inquired about it they told me to come back later. So i left, put the "Do not disturb" sign on the door and stepped away for a few hours. When i come back i find that they had brought the dryer into the room. Completely ignoring the fact that i left the sign on the door. This place felt like it was falling apart, was bought at a cheap price and reopened without caring to do any...
Read moreI will never stay in your hotels again. I booked a room for a week on Tuesday at one of your lancaster, PA hotels. I woke up the first morning with 2 bites on my arm. I didn't think much of it. Assumed they were mosquito bites. I checked the bed and didn't see anything. After the second night I didn't really notice anything. After the third night I woke up with multiple bites on my arms and legs and hands. I had to go to work but decided to really check the place over when I got back to my room. I flipped over the mattress and found bed bugs. Eggs and bugs both. I calmly walked to the office to request to be moved to another room. After waiting for the clerk, Jennifer, to check in 2 other guests I explained my situation. She asked a lady sitting down in the lobby, which I assume was a housekeeper, to go check it out. I took her to my room and showed them to her and she agreed they were bed bugs. We walked back to the lobby to find Jennifer on the phone. After patiently waiting at least 15 minutes, long enough for her to help 2 other people, she finally set the phone down. She told me I needed to check out of the hotel. This is at 1030pm after working a 12 hour shift. I was shocked. I was told they would not move me to another room nor refund me any of my money. I had only stayed 3 nights when I had paid for 7. I was incredibly upset at this point as Jennifer explained to me that since I hadn't complained prior to then that I must have brought the bed bugs with me! And since I didn't complain sooner I wasn't getting a refund! It can take days for bed bug bites to be noticeable, in fact some people have no reaction to them at all. So now it's almost 11pm, I'm in a strange town, I'm exhausted and I have no where to stay. Luckily for me it was a Friday night and it seemed that every hotel in the area was full. Took me until midnight to find a room 20 minutes away. I can not believe I was kicked out of your hotel because I got riddled with bed bug bites at your hotel! I can't believe I was treated this way. I can't even call your customer relations line because they are closed on weekends! I will never stay in a red roof inn again. I'm disgusted in the way this was handled. I will now go on every site online I can find to warm others about your horrible customer service at this location. I can't believe you are in business if this is your business...
Read more● WARNING ! STAY AWAY ! ●We have stayed at countless Red Roof Inns across the country and have never been dissapointed. We had made reservations at the STRAUSBURG franchise. Upon arrival we had serious reservations! At 7:30 we tried to check in. There were only 2 cars in the entire lot. The place looked dark and run down. The 1st room, #10, the heater blower motor had a constant squeal. The desk manager suggested I turn the TV volume up! Yes, he really did! The second room, #12, the heat didn't work at all! The third room had an unidentifiable stench. The windows in ALL the rooms were FILTHY! Not dirty or streaky but years of neglect FILTHY! The property had paint peeling off doors and walls, discarded shopping carts strewn across the back parking lot, a discarded mattress left standing against a room door, our room lock plate missing its cover, ENOUGH! I asked for my money back and the desk manager REFUSED!! I pointed out the problems and he apologised but stiĺl refused a refund. My wife and I were NOT going to stay there at all! I asked to be relocated to an other Red Roof, ANY other Red Roof and the desk manager refused that too! I called Red Roof National. The nice representative tried to intercede in my behalf to have my room refunded and applied to another Red Roof Inn and she was REFUSED! We ended up forfeiting our entire room reservation and going elsewhere! THIS STRASBURG FRANCHISE IS A PIT AND TOTALLY UNWORTHY OF THE RED ROOF ASSOCIATION!
APRIL 11, 2022 To date, I have not been contacted by the owners of this hotel. I have reported this franchise location to Red Roof Inn management. My assumption is that NO ONE CARES! With SO many reputable hotels to choose from, I will stay elsewhere until this is atrocity is resolved AND this franchise manager be removed by Red Roof and barred from ever working at Red Roof again. WHAT AN EMBARASSMENT ! BTW, I'm a Red Roof Ready Card Member for over 25 years and traveled for a living. I've seen a few Red Roofs in my time. This...
