In an unfortunately saturated Lansing breakfast market, Angela’s will need a bit more to stand out. Even though we were the only patrons for the whole first hour of the day, the server never visited us outside of asking for our orders and delivering them. No pleasantries, but also no communication. Asked for coffee—were given Americanos with no explanation. Our food came out underseasoned—the omelette was decent texturally, but there was very little of it compared to a mountain of bland potatoes. There was no salt and pepper on the table, and since the server never came back, ended up getting it myself. After we finished the meal, we had to get up and pay since the server was sitting on their phone in the corner. If it was busy, this would be a different review—but we were the only patrons there. I hope...

Great little cafe with great food and quiet atmosphere. My wife and I went during the 2025 East Lansing Art Fair, and got right in no problem. Food was great and I especially enjoyed the aioli that came with the cheeseburger. My only criticism would be the service, and it wasn’t the fault of the waiters. I think if Angela’s employed an order numbering system, I would have given all 5’s. After we paid, we just found a table, and didn’t quite know if we were going to get the items we ordered. We had to trust the process, which included 2 different waiters asking what we had ordered, and then reassuring us it would be right out. I think taking numbers similar to Culver’s number system, would improve their process tremendously, especially...

The cappuccino was good, but we waited at least 45 minutes for food, and when I asked about it, they said they had not yet started the order, so I cancelled the food, paid and left. The bathrooms were clean, but the music was the most random mix of classic country, r&b, pop, new country, and other, in a nonsensical order.

Also, the tables for 2 people were awkwardly close together, so much so that I could hear the conversations of everyone around. And the tables were not being cleared regularly, as there was a table that took at least 30 minutes for a table next to us to get bussed, which was also weird.

I would like for this place to do well, but some major changes are needed in order to run a tight ship in the competive restaurant market...

This is a cute cafe with a pretty diverse menu. It is pretty clean and well decorated. The produce used in the sandwiches was very vibrant, flavorful, and fresh. The veggie sandwich was great, though a little light on the plum chutney. I asked for extra to go, but they didn’t have any containers so I wasn’t given any. The service was okay, I was a little confused on the concept. The staff took our order at the table, but did not come back to refill the water or check on our meal, and you pay up at the register. I think they should either have full table service, or you should order and pay at the front for less confusion. Overall, the food was really good, and I would come back to try some of their other menu items.
