I used to come here all the time when I was becoming familiar with the area. The coffee was good and the staff were always friendly. Recently though I feel as though the service there as gone downhill, on top of the fact the staff themselves are not so friendly. One day I got the wrong sandwich, And after coming all the way back for the correct one, they gave me one with only one slice of bread with the ingredients piled on top. No big deal, people have their off days, and the staff were kind of nice. The final straw was when I requested they bake a carrot cake, three days in advance on August 6th around 1pm. i gave the girl my information, placed the order, then asked how much the cake would cost. I asked three times, each time she would reply with either "what?" Or "ok," until finally I asked firmly "what is the price for the 10" carrot cake?" to which she replied, laughing, she would have to give me a call back with an answer. Even then I thought "ok, it sounds busy, no big." An hour passes. I call back. Conversation goes as thus; Me: "Hi this is so and so, I placed an order for the carrot cake and was wondering how much it would cost?" Same girl: "ok." silence Me: "yeah....so you do know what the price is?" Girl: "of the cake?" Me: "yes, the 10" carrot cake I ordered. Is it still ordered?" Girl: "oh it is." MORE SILENCE Me: "ok......how much is it?" Girl: "hold on" And I hear her ask someone RIGHT next to her, takes 2 seconds: Girl: "It's $40."
I placed an order somewhere else, cheaper and more friendly, cancelled it at Guillianos, and hung up (on the same girl). The place holds a few good memories but I'm never going back, and never reccomending this place to anyone again. I get people have their off-days, customer service is no small feat, but this final incident has completely turned me off from the place, now knowing that at least one person there clearly doesn't give a damn about...
Read morewell first experience was almost being run over by a gentleman leaving the business with two large bags like his a** was on fire. after ordering a steak egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, i asked it to be cut in half as i was splitting it with someone, you'll read why this becomes relevant at the end of the review. i left and came back to see it ready. sitting on top of pastry case(why wasn't it in a bag idk, as it stays hotter that way)and had seen the italian bread coming back in so asked for a loaf, then noticed a tray of stuffed breads on top of the pastry counter and they all looked pretty good and their kinds were written in red marker on the wrapper but the writing was facing into the business side but after looking closely i said i'll have a pastrami and swiss, is that what the one on the end is? she snaps"the names are all WRITTEN on them you know." and i was like yeah but we're reading it upside down you know...well i paid $17.57 for the food the breakfast sandwich was decent but upon unwrapping it it was not cut in 1/2 it was cut more like 1/3 and 2/3. the pastrami and swiss stuffed bread was average. although $7.50 being too pricey for what they charge for it. the bread was good...
Read morePoor service. There is a brunette lady working behind the counters, rude! She treated us like she didn't want to help. Any question we asked, it was answered like she couldn't be bothered. There was only me and my SO and one white waiting for his order from the back. My SO asked about one of the desserts and what's it made of, she said she didn't know! How do you work there and not know what's in the dessert? What if someone has allergies? She sounded irritated that my SO was asking what's in the dessert.
She was just very dismissive to us. At the end, we asked for a bag to put all the box in to carry it easier, she looked annoyed and then gave us one of the clear bags that she put the bread in. Then said have a nice day and walked away. Didn't ask if there was anything else we needed or even help put the boxes in the bag.
We love going to bakeries. But I wouldn't go back here. There is a great bakery called Chimirri's Italian Pastry Shop in Wethersfield, they are so sweet and food is great!
Edit: I see there are some people saying service is great. I forgot to mention, we are South Asians (Indians). The lady could've been a racist. Anyways, I wanted to share...
