Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in East Peoria

Generally a decent experience & food here at the East Peoria IL location. Not so great these last 2 months. My 2/23/23 pick up: cost $50 + $5 cash tip to curbside tip jar (since they have to split tips with others - I tried to give it to just the girl -who is usually there when I pick up. She was appreciative and put it in the jar for all to split. Good employee :-) ) I waited inside a bit over 5 mins:so figured food would be hot/fresh. Did not care about a little wait - rather have our food fresh anyway. My choice to go inside - paying with gift card & debit. The guy at pick up seemed stressed/rushed, no smiles at all. The girl who rang me up:sweet and pleasant as always. Both of them were in&out of kitchen & she went to the curb few times. When I checked my burger, lettuce was on it. I hate lettuce on my burgers, it’s all you taste. My mistake when I ordered in the app. Guy seemed annoyed that that I was about to have my burger fixed and said “well this is how it was ordered“, so I didn’t have him charge it. (Ever geared of making it right for the customer?) I was not going to have them remake a burger, just scrape off the lettuce and give me a new bottom bun. I Should have pushed the issue. My food all tasted like lettuce: even after I picked it off and removed bun. Fries were barley warm and tasked like lettuce - which that had steamed everything in the container. I ate several fries in the car because I was very hungry. They were barley warm and kind of wet in parts. I assume the warm lettuce made them wet. Tasted a bit weird too - not just the lettuce flavor. So stopped eating them figuring I would heat in oven at home to crips and hope flavor would improve. We paid for 4 oz ext sauces so I would not need to ask for extra when picked up. Got triple dipper, all as SW egg rolls (yum!) yet only got ONE tiny container of avocado ranch. Should have been at least 3 tiny cups, or one 4 oz cups. Second time this has happened recently at this location. Frustrating to get home & only 1 person has enough avocado ranch to enjoy the food we just paid for. There was also bloody juice puddled in the cold fries. Ordered burger with pink so would not be over done. There was no pink which was completely fine:beef was good but could eat much after a few bites because the bloody juices issue started grossing me out. Since it was clearly NOT from my burger and it ruined barely warm fries that I had eaten in the car. Ewww. Even my burger bun did NOT have bloody juice soaked into the bun - which I would expect when ordering a burger with pink inside. So why bloody juice in my container underneath the cold fries??? Yuck. Disappointing visit. Sorry for this review but quality is slipping. I generally expect lower quality at curbside pick up- anywhere, but this was definitely sub par. The other food in the order ( big BBQ Bacon burger and molten chlt cake) were good - as ordered and that burger had no bloody juice in container. :-). We had the 2 for $25 and added a strawberry margarita.. food was average- not outstanding as I remember it to be. Then she brought the check and I told my wife that we hadn't ordered dessert yet. She didn't think it came with it and checked the menu. After reading that it did she started looking at the bill and it was well over $40. Ten minutes later the waitress walked by and my wife asked her to look at the bill (we were still waiting to give our dessert order). The waitress read the bill and then said "oh.. we didn't order dessert ". I said that's what we were waiting to do. She apologized and said that if she didn't put dessert on the bill it wouldn't ring up correctly. So, she took the bill and we ordered our dessert. 20 minutes later the dessert(skillet cookie) came out half cooked and the waitress put it on the table apologizing and said "it's like pulling teeth back there to get anything done". After looking at the nearly raw cookie we ready to leave. The waitress said to hold on a minute and ran in the back as if to bring out a Manager. She came back around the corner a couple of minutes later and said "I am so sorry". I asked her to run the card to pay the bill so we could leave. She said alright and headed to the back. As I waited I saw the manager sheepishly look my direction and upon discovering that I had seen him headed to my table. He asked if there was a problem with the the dessert. I replied "yes.. it shouldn't take 20 minutes to get it". I didn't even point out the fact that it was under cooked. He agreed and asked if I would like it taken off. I told him it was on the 2 for $25 deal and he said he would give me a discount and headed the direction he had come from. He then came back to the table with 2 receipts, stating that the card had already been ran for the original amount and so when it finally goes thru the bank it would be the discounted amount. I said ok and left. I haven't been to Chilli's in a long time because I don't get to go out much but we have always had a good experience in the past but I guess it will be a long time before I go...

This is the second time recently we have had a bad experience here. I am not the complaining kind but this was just too ridiculous not to address. My fiancé and I went to have dinner. We walk in to two hostesses standing with their backs to us and barely acknowledge us standing there to finally tell us it will be about 20 minutes for seating. No problem. Well l, while we sit and wait several tables leave. Time goes on and several other families come in and are told 20-30-45 minutes. Others are coming in getting seats at the bar no one is being sat. Another family comes in and pretty much circles around me a blocking us in on a bench facing us and their kids are climbing all over my fiancé getting up and down from the bench to the side of us and these people are just carrying on talking, messing around and not care or sense to maybe not crowd two strangers. Then here’s the kicker mind you they came in 15ish minutes after us…they get seated and we are still not even acknowledged. We left. Did not get sat for dinner did not want to stay after this experience. The last experience before this our waitress seemed to be high as a kite on drugs so we will definitely not be returning ever again. Such a shame because I like their...
