Dined there yesterday with my boyfriend. We got a giant Italian sandwich to split and sat down. When we started eating, a woman walked in carrying a dog. The employee at the register asked the woman if the animal was a service animal, then asked what task the dog was trying to perform. As someone who Works locally with Fitzmaurice I would like to thank that employee for doing her due diligence and ensuring the safety of my food. The woman immediately became irate and told the girl she’s not allowed to ask that. This is entirely incorrect as per the Americans With Disabilities Act. I commend the employee for keeping her cool because I’m not sure I would’ve been able to do the same thing. The woman called her stupid, asked if she had an off button… Screamed at her. Cursed at her. The woman tried to tell her she couldn’t wear gloves while handling cash and the woman calmly explained to her that she had a surgery and that’s why she was wearing a glove. The lady yelled and told her she didn’t give a f. There were children and elderly people around. & by the lack of alerting when its owner was literally having an adult temper tantrum meltdown, chances are that dog wasn’t a service animal to begin w/. I wanted to give a big shout out to all of them at that location. I could never handle something like that. My food is always amazing and the people are so friendly. I will always return to this jersey Mike’s!...
Read moreThey weren’t the best. And it’s not their fault. I was overcharged because they messed up my giants and made them regular, than charge me additional regulars, having over paid $9. As a giant price is not the same equivalent to the price of 2 regulars.
Aside from that fact, there should be additional sanitation training. There was no changing of the gloves between taking orders, touching the meat slicer and the sandwiches. Just cause there’s gloves, there’s also bacteria transfer.
Also, it’s not effective to have the person making the sandwiches, also taking the orders. This leads to employees overworked, overwhelmed and errors.
It’s a tight confinement for them, and the flow is just not there. I feel like design wise, it’s just not effective or efficient.
I would actually go out of my way to go to the tannersville jersey mike, opposed to this location, as I get better service, and less likely to be surcharged. But it’s okay, they’re learning.
But I would take dominoes mistakes over this. Dominoes actually makes efforts to mend their employees errors, without...
Read moreI ordered a giant stickball sandwich. I’m watching the short light skinned lady with glasses make my sandwich. First thing I observed when I came in the door was this same woman help someone to the car. She had on gloves and touched the door handle. She then walked pass me and began to attempt to make my sandwich. I stopped her and told her to change her gloves. She did but when she made my sandwich, I feel like she shorted me on the meat. I checked the sandwich making chart on the internet and found that she did short me on the meat. These sandwiches are almost $20. The last thing she should be doing is not properly making the sandwiches according to Jersey Mikes standards.
2024 update… finally went back to that particular Jersey Mikes… the young lady I spoke of in my original review no longer works for the company. She had other issues that weren’t disclosed by her peers. When I spoke about her to them, they knew exactly who I was talking about… sandwiches are made according to...
