Jimmy's Ice CreamOfEastStroudsburg — Restaurant in East Stroudsburg

I traveled away from home for a mini-vacation and ended up staying not far from this ice cream shop. I was excited to go because of all the recommendations I received. It was close to closing but it wasn’t closing time by time the time my boyfriend and I made it about 15 minutes before closing. There was a line so I stood there with my boyfriend in the store with everyone else. The cashier took everyone’s order in line but when she got to me her bubbly personality that I witnessed while waiting changed. It dropped and she scowled and said “we’re close.” I was literally so stunned I couldn’t speak for a moment. I will add, I was the only person who was a different race than everyone else in line. My boyfriend who is white immediately said “but you just took everyone else’s order and we waited over 10 minutes in this line.” She was adamant that they wouldn’t scoop anymore ice cream so I asked if I could at least get an already made ice cream sandwich. I was so excited to try it out I just wanted something. I am on the spectrum so it took me sometime to realize that what that cashier did was aggressive, hurtful and I’m pretty sure racist. By the time I got back to the AirBnb to eat my ice cream sandwich my appetite was gone. Once it dawned on me what she did and how rude she went about it, I didn’t want the ice cream. Which breaks my heart to this day because it’s literally been over a year since I traveled to the area. I wasn’t going to say anything but as I’m getting older I realize I have to call out bad behaviors because it’s not right and it needs to change so someone else isn’t hurt due to personal bias. I’m sorry I didn’t come forward back in April 2023. I should have said something then. Hopefully the worker is no longer there and I hope it was just her personal racism and not something that’s a culture...

Went on a Wednesday evening. There must have been an event at ESU as the place was packed with student athletes. Despite the crowds, folks were social distancing. The staff at Jimmy's handled it well. The staff were taking long distance orders and getting them ready before one got to the register. They were doing it all with a great attitude. They were quite friendly and maybe even smiling behind their masks. The shop was clean and bright. There's an air hockey table and some other video and skill games.. Jimmy's offers a plethora of flavors inclusive of coconut, salted caramel, and cake batter. I haven't tried them all but the ones I have tried were quite good. I went basic tonight. I ordered a medium soft serve vanilla cup with rainbow sprinkles. Rainbow sprinkles are a must with vanilla ice cream. It was super! The only real negative is the location. There are eateries and other shops on the street so it can be a challenge to park close which can be a concern. Jimmy's is my go-to for ice cream. I have not had a bad ice cream or bad service at Jimmy's. Always friendly,...

Only come here if you wanna be given an attitude. My friend and I came in, none of the employees were welcoming, no hi welcome in, nothing we felt judged the entire time. After walking around uncomfortable looking for what we wanted, we went to go into the freezer. We had the door open for less than a minute when a rude old looking blonde lady, who I’m assuming is the owner now, decided to run up to us and demand we have the door closed because we are melting her ice cream cakes. After a pause of silence because we were shocked why she was being so rude, I apologized and she did nothing but side eye me and then proceed to talk to her employees about my friend and I. As we were leaving she decided to give attitude once more. I’m actually appalled by this interaction because we were literally about to buy her products.
