We felt so lucky to have chosen Fern and Fable for dinner on the last night of my son’s stay here. The decor was cozy and artful. Unlike so many restaurants, the space was quiet, allowing us to enjoy an intimate meal. Then there was the food! I selected the rabbit pot pie, a specialty of the house. What a delight! Inside the rustic crust, the filling was delicately seasoned to complete the shedded rabbit and chunky root vegetables with just enough gravy to be moist. Absolutely amazing first experience at Fern & Fable. The grounds and restaurant is stunning. The artwork is beautiful and the restaurant itself provides such a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The food was exceptional. We got 2 appetizers, entree and dessert. Everything came out quickly, and was so delicious. The food was rich without being overpowering. I ordered an Elk steak and they suggested to have it cooked as Medium-Rare. I accepted the chef's suggestion. It was pretty rare in the middle. I have never had such horrible food poisoning in all of my life. I spent 8 hours throwing up on and off from @11PM - 7AM the next morning. My body still isn't right 4 days later.
