I recently tried Bagery for the first time, it was a hectic day and I had been running a lot of errands and was really hungry. This was nearby so I thought I should stop and get something quick before finishing my errands and going to pick up my kids. I ordered a Cobb salad with no blue cheese. I got a Cobb salad with blue cheese. The order was rang in correctly by the cashier, but the chef did not read the ticket, nor did the food runner before bringing me the meal. I spoke with one of the staff and let them know that the order was incorrect. I said that since I was very hungry and short on time I would eat it anyway. But I let her know that I was not happy because it was made incorrectly and blue cheese is not something that can be easily picked off and it has a strong lingering taste. Then while I was eating my salad a staff member came over and said "She's going to refund you $2 because that is what blue cheese costs". I worked in hospitality management for decades, I have never heard of such a bad response to an offer being made incorrectly. I am not really concerned with the $2, clearly I paid $17 for the salad which the cost was already built into, let alone that is not what 2 oz of blue cheese costs. Typically if my order is wrong I will give a place a second chance, mistakes happen, restaurants are very fast paced to work in (though it was not busy at the time). However, when the customer service at a place is bad I will not go back. Blue cheese is mold, and to me, it tastes like what it is, but I also do not like to be wasteful and I tried to make it simple. Typically in these situations I would offer to expedite the order, or if the guest is in too much of a rush I would offer a complimentary drink, bagel or muffin. I definitely would not tell someone the thing you did not want on your food, but we put it in anyway we'll...
Read moreHey !!! I'd wish I could give 10 stars to this fine gem. This review is long overdue. What a superiorly run, always clean, always professional, always efficient, always smiling staff, always doing everything PERFECT establishment. The bagels are always plump and tasty! My only complaint is that the popular ones sell out because they're so GREAT!!! LOL!! Diana does an incredible job with order flow and quality of the food. It's always magnificent. Hats off to the rest of the gang... Laura, Erica, Tory, Caroline, Annabeth!! Keep up the great customer service. I'd like to acknowledge the owner Steve ... who is ALWAYS there (why it runs so well fact) ... as a small business owner myself ... he knows what he's doing and does a phenomenal job soup to nuts.
Fyi ... lately the prices have become VERY HIGH... I mean higher than NJ, DC, and NY... the place is -- great -- but the prices will preclude me from going frequently ... 15$ for bagel sandwich is simply too high. And...
Read moreLovely bagel shop with a hip modern vibe. People behind the counter are sweet and my online order was perfect. I ordered 19 bagels for a family vacation some separated because of an allergy. I received a personal confirmation note after the order was placed and it was ready for pick up exactly when I came. My 3 rating is for the bagels. I really enjoy bagels which is why I made such a generous order. You can find good bagels outside of New York and a regional bagel shop is typically better than the grocery store, which is why I ordered them from Bagery instead of from Weis when I did my grocery order. These bagels unfortunately are missing yeast or rise time. They are more of a hard dense bread instead of a chewy airy consistency. The toppings like the everything and poppy are great, and cover the bagel really well, but a bagel is supposed to have an airy doughy chew. I feel like I’m eating day old bakery bread. A plus for the service but D for...
