I have not been to this restaurant in several years. Their food used to be really good and the restaurant was clean and welcoming.
They no longer have in restaurant dining..Take out only. There's a table blocking the doorway into the restaurant itself. You can see the dining area and it's a mess! Stuff laying all around.
After I already ordered and paid for my meal, I started looking at reviews online.. I should have looked before. Obviously..
The hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour.. and was just a thick jelly like mass. Hardly anything in it except a lot of corn starch. It was inedible. I will have to say it is the worst hot and sour soup.I've ever had in my life. And to add insult to injury, the noodles that they give you with soup that are supposed to be crispy were so stale that they also went in the trash.
I ordered a simple meal of steamed shrimp and vegetables with brown sauce on the side. This is where they get some stars ..... I feel there were enough shrimp and vegetables were fresh... Except for the supposed baby corn, which were big chunks and were too hard to eat.
Will I go back there? No. Sad as this used to be a nice...
Read moreVery nice decor, very clean, very polite service. We ordered 2 lunch specials the twice cooked pork and Szechuan chicken and string beans. Generous portions, the pork came with a happy assortment of vegetables all cooked until just al dente (cabbage, carrot, mushroom, snow pea, and bell pepper) in a sticky spicy and savory sauce. Fried rice, an egg roll, and choice of soup were all included with the lunch special and we tried both the Wonton and Egg Drop soups. The broth is very flavorful and the wonton is made with a stiff chewy dough I really like. The egg drop soup is presumably made with the same tasty broth and thickened to an almost pudding consistency; it’s very eggy and comforting. All-in-all it was an incredible value at just under $30 for everything mentioned and a shrimp tempura to split, and everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. I’ll definitely be looking for excuses...
Read moreChose this place due to the (mostly positive) reviews. Ordered a dish with different seafood and meat and a soup as a starter. They only do take out. Lady taking my order was not very friendly or forthcoming. Gave me an unwelcoming impression. Food came with a plastic fork only, no spoon (soup), nor napkin. Main dish was literally overloaded with broccoli, snap peas and green beans, even though I had ordered (and paid) a meat/seafood dish, with the latter being on the bottom in a very manageable amount but in a ton of sauce, and the heaves of veggies on top. Couldn't have gotten more veggies if I had ordered vegetarian. Taste was ok. A little too bland for my taste. It all tasted the same, with the sauce cover making it difficult to distinguish a different taste for any one item in the dish. I am only travelling through, but if I'd lived here, I would definitely find me...
