Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, but rated 3 stars due to the following: The area used for food preparation closet to the dessert bar was very messy and the floor was dirty. Two employees wearing no gloves pouring cheese onto food. Very slow service. A new employee as sweet as a button, but she did not speak English well enough to understand my questions regarding the menu. She was new, struggling and, no one was actively training her. A woman (customer) became impatient and rude to her (employee). If you are in a hurry, call your order in and pick-up. The food we ordered each time was good. We ordered sandwiches drinks and dessert. While the food is good, the portions of meat are very small compared to the bread. The bread is very thick, its delicious but very, very thick. Hey, bread does fill you up and everyone loves bread (and bacon) but not for the prices of there sandwiches. Expect to pay $40-$50 for two people. For 2 sandwiches meals (comes with with about one handful of kettle chips and one pickle spere per person), drinks arent included but we ordered 2 drinks and , 2 desserts and paid $47.00. Sounds reasonable but not when the meat portions are so small. I'm going to go again soon and I will take pictures to add along with a picture of the receipt
PROS: Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good food, very tasty bread, great coffee
Cons: cleanliness, overpriced, very small portions of meat, very slow...
Read moreCame up from Clarksville, TN for some sammiches. Fresh baked breads (except the rye) are all made in house.
I got the corned beef Reuben. Yum, yum. The corned beef is not made in house, but I was informed by our extremely nice and knowledgeable server that it comes from a local vendor. Wherever it comes from there was a good sized portion of it slapped between those two slices of rye bread...along with the delicous sauerkraut, thousand island dressing and Swiss cheese.
My wife got the Cubano sandwich. This was served on jalapeno cheese bread and with a spicy pepper mustard. These two items alone were a great addition to the sandwich, but off the beaten path of a traditional Cuban. My one complaint is that I am a firm believer in informing your customers (via the menu description) when your version of a regional sandwich, such as a Cuban sandwich, differs from how it is REALLY made. The menu description should indicate that it is 'Eddyville's take on the famous Cuban sandwich'...just my two Lincolns.
Each sandwich was accompanied by some kettle chips and a pickle.
We visited the bakery afterwards and got a cinnamon roll for the road, have not tried it yet.
Anyhow, if you are in the area, maybe after a trip to Venture River water park, you should really stop by for a sandwich at this local eatery rather than a big...
Read moreI recently visited Our Daily Bread and was delighted to discover that it is under new ownership. The transformation is evident, with changes and upgrades being implemented throughout the establishment. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and you can tell that the new owners are making a concerted effort to enhance every aspect of the dining experience.
One of the things that impressed me the most was their dedication to keeping everything fresh and up-to-date. Although they're still in the process of implementing some updates, the improvements already in place are noticeable and make dining here a true pleasure.
I also appreciated their updated hours, which are now more accommodating for early risers. They are open from Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 2 PM, and on Saturday from 6 AM to 11 AM. This schedule is perfect for a hearty breakfast or a leisurely brunch, especially on the weekends.
Overall, I am thrilled with the direction Our Daily Bread is heading in and highly recommend giving it a try. The new owners have a clear vision, and I am excited to see what they have in store for the future. A fantastic...
