We visited here Saturday night 10/12/24 around 6ish pm. We actually debated on stopping here, because the last two times we were here the food had not been up to par as usual. However we did not want to fight the crowd at Oasis. With tables open in the main dining room we were seated in the side room. Most tables in the room were dirty with two tables occupied. Those people soon left. We were alone in the room. We ordered water for our drinks. My husbands water had a lemon floating in it that had a huge black rotten spot in squeeze part and he immediately commented "look what they put in my water," I gave him mine. My water tasted horrible. Almost like chemicals or soap. I could not drink it. I didn't complain.. I then ordered a sprite which had the same flavor! I could not drink it. Still did not complain. Beans arrived with no hush puppies. We had even eaten our beans by the time they did. She asked did we want more. I said yes. I later had to ask her again because she never brought them. We were surprised, the last two visits the beans had been cold and hard, but this time they were hot. The hush puppies. Very hot, grease soaked thru. So soggy your fingers smooshed thru them. We asked for another bowl that wasn't grease soaked. The next bowl was exactly the same. The bowls had pooled grease in the bottom they were so greasy. Inside the cornmeal area was brown, grease had soaked thru so bad. They were like this last time a few weeks ago. Its like they are refrying them or using grease that is not hot enough. They had a nasty burnt grease flavor. They used to be known for their delicious hush puppies. Our waitress Sheradon (I believe was her name) and a little blonde girl started cleaning the room. They wanted to get the room clean and shut down for the night. It was around 6:30 pm. Our food came. My husbands frog legs were still pink in the middle. We showed our waitress, she was like a deer in headlights. She didn't know what to. Didn't even offer more frog legs. Just was gonna tell the cook. They man who was getting dishes off the tables was very friendly. Apologized, said no he wouldn't eat them either. Blamed the "new" cooked, and they cooked him more. As we then sit there and eat the two girls start pulling every table out and vacuuming the floors with a loud vacuum as we try to eat and have conversation. Even bumping my bench with the vacuum. This went on for about ten minutes. When we checked out the boy asked us if everything was ok. I said "no it was not". Again like a deer in headlights. They have no idea what to do in this situation. When I told him all the problems and told the blonde how she proceeded to vacuum the whole room while we were trying to have a nice meal out all she could say was "I was doing my job". They did not understand, I paid $42.00 for this meal. We come out to have a nice dinner and don't expect to be in the clean up crew room. The food was crappy, they scrapped dishes and pulled tables and vacuumed the whole time we ate all around us, it wasn't closing time. She just kept saying she couldn't believe I was so rude to her. Rude because I told the little kids trying to run a restaurant the truth?? To use her brain and think about it?? The truth hurts sometimes. Learn to deal with the public or don't ask if was everything ok. Learn to take care of your customers and make sure they have a nice enjoyable visit. They sure aren't teaching that at The Willow Pond. Was an apology offered? NO, a discount offered? NO. Did they boy who originally asked if everything was ok then respond? NO but took our money $42.00... will I return? NO I suggest a pass when you see this place. It's not what it used to be and we've been noticing it for a while. They got my $42 this time, but what Blondie doesn't realize. We ate there quite often. That's a lot of $42 they are going to miss out from now on. 4 of us coming next week have canceled. There goes a $100 already. Be proud of the little girl doing her job. Shes...
Read moreMy husband and i had gone to Patti's 1880 for dinner. We had a hour 15min wait. We weren't thrilled about it wait but we decided to wait it out. Unfortunately it wasn't worth the wait. Once we were seated we ordered drinks. Water w/lemon & tea with lemon. Both drinks came out without lemon and without straws. We both ordered chicken salads. Both salads arrived without any chicken. In the mean time i order a 13.00 margarita frozen. it came to table on the rocks. By this time id had enough of the mess ups. she was going to take the salads back and I said its okay dont bother and we just got up and left. WAY OVER RATED AND PRICED, LONG WAIT TIMES. CONSIDERING THE HORRIBLE SERVICE AND ALL!! 1 STAR!! We headed back home and decided on McDonald's. There was a restaurant called willow pond beside the McDonald's. We decided to try it since we both love catfish and frog legs. IT WAS PHENOMENAL!! My husband ordered catfish and i ordered frog legs. They first brought out our water and tea. Then a bowl of white beans each and a nice size bowl of hush puppies to share. ( everyone gets beans and hp) When our entree arrives it was a plate full. More than we could eat. Prices were very reasonable. Service was food was exceptional. We will return and definitely recommend. Thank you. Please try Willow pond! If you love this type of food you won't be...
Read moreIncredibly delicious food being served here! Everything I tried here was overly yummy. Friendly staff. Good on the drink refills. Even the white beans were yummy. The catfish is being served in three different styles. I tried them all. All were good! Will definitely come back and will definitely go for the all you can eat catfish option next time.
Just beware that there's a new lady operating the cash register which charges 20% mandatory tip on groups of 8 or over on top of the already charged 20% tip. She's probably learned by now as we called in and got the difference back, but doesn't hurt to check your receipt before paying!
Plenty of free...
