It's sad when the customer knows more than the employees. Three different visits. All using the app. Pork pack.. they neglected to give me the buns and lemonade acted like I was crazy when I told them it is listed as coming with it. She didn't know! Next visit paid online but went in store for pick up and ordered the pickles and onions in a container extra. 2lb of bbq and received about 10 pickles and the rest onion when i didnt even want onion but was told you have to buy both. Funny thing was, she held them looked at cash register funny, looked around for someone, and acted like she didn't know what to do. Finally she said here just take them. Then today. The final straw. Ordered a house salad on the app. They have choices within the app when you pick your salad. Pick your dressing, unpick ingredients, add meat for an upcharge. For my meat selection I picked club salad style for $3.95 extra. One would think that would mean meat like turkey or ham and bacon that would go on the club but get it on the house salad. I mean it's in the meat section. I then paid checked out. A girl immediately called me and told me if I wanted a club salad I needed to change it on the app and pay for a club salad. They would charge me more. I told her I already paid more. She had to ask manager. Everything I said she replied they will charge me more. I'm in the car driving to the joint and can't redo all of this. I said can't you change it? She said no I had to, so I said well just give me the brisket on it because it was about the same price. She said ok but we will still charge you more. When I go to the store I showed them my receipt I had already paid more and showed her it said club salad style $3.95 and it should be club salad meat. She was surprised to see that. She went and showed her manager. He did not know you could do that. Imagine that! I told her noone there has no clue as to what is going on. She then asked do I want the club salad meat. I said yes! Then told me they suggest.. next time I order the club salad. I said naw! Won't be a next time! I won't be back tell your manager that. Man couldn't even come to the window to make it right after being questioned twice about it. The club salad and house salad are 2 different salads w different stuff on it. I wanted the crisps that come with the house and they were stale as could be. There was also brisket on the salad. Wonder if they recharged me for it? Probably couldn't figure it out. I suggest for salads, save the headache of arguing with these clueless people and order from The Oasis. You have lost...
Read moreWe found this restaurant online and drove forty minutes to try it for date night. I wish I had taken pictures... from the moment we walked in, everyone was so nice. Our server was excellent (I hate that cannot remember her name).
The food. Oh my goodness, The Food!
First, the sweet tea was perfection - as sweet as it was strong, just right.
We started our meal with the Redneck Eggrolls. Four to the plate, but they're hefty. They come with sweet chili sauce, which was yum - but I poured some of their on the table mild sauce into them, which took the mix of flavors to another level.
My husband ordered the Smoked Brisket Philly & fries. Let's start with their fries, thankfully he shared. Salt and Pepper on thin, crispy, goodness. His sandwich was melt in your mouth delicious; every bite he gave that "o-my gawd" face.
I ordered Allison's Grilled Chicken Sandwich (no tomato for me) - I don't know the last time I had such a unique flavored sandwich that filled me up, but the taste left me wanting more. The avocado is sliced, not smeared, which I really enjoyed. I didn't notice the ham texture in the bites, but the ham gave the sandwich a smoky flavor. The bacon was chef's kiss and the grilled chicken was marinated beautifully.
My side was onion rings, they were tasty! Though, I did enjoy my husband's fries more...
We wanted dessert - they have scoop-ice cream displayed, but we were so full at the end of dinner we had to unbutton our pants for the ride home. haha
I will say their hot sauce is HOT, their mild sauce is super flavorful, and the hot mustard is delish!
My husband and I both agreed we wish The Joint was in our town, but we will...
Read moreWe stopped here on a family road trip over spring break looking to stretch our legs and try some local bbq. What an amazing experience!
Delicious Food! The menu was extensive - great options for the kids and adults. We tried some of their fried green beans for an appetizer. Great flavor and crunch- be prepared for a little bit of kick on the breading. I loved it but some in our party found them too spicy. My wife and I had the pulled pork sandwiches, I had mine with their spicy mustard sauce. My wife tried their mild bbq sauce - both were delicious. The mild bbq has a hint of cinnamon to it, a little different than what we’re used to in Texas but great flavor. The spicy mustard was a good blend of vinegar and black pepper.
Excellent Service! Kyle greeted us warmly and moved quick to arrange a table for our party of 7. Randy, their pit master took the time to introduce himself, welcome us and visit for a bit. After we had finished our meal, he introduced us to the owner, Allison. She was just as warm, and welcoming.
Warm Atmosphere! The restaurant is clean, bright, and warm with plenty of space for large groups to sit a spell and visit while they dine. There were three our four larger groups when we arrived- but the restaurant still felt comfortable, we had no trouble hearing one another as we chatted over our meal and the servers didn’t miss a beat.
Allison, if you’re reading this, thank you for creating such a welcoming environment and delicious menu! Keep up...
