A.M. CAFE EDGEWATER — Restaurant in Edgewater

Why not 5 stars since food, service, & atmosphere get 5s? A first visit to the Edgewater location, I am a weekly customer of the NSB location, wishing to offer hopefully constructive feedback. If I didn’t care & want to continue patronizing AMC I’d say nothing & disappear, but I do. You are growing & obviously doing many things right, this simply an attempt to improve upon it. I say this because the first & only other review I gave AMC was misconstrued & taken out on the waitress despite every effort to NOT point a finger in that direction, but to mgt., who never bothered to approach me even though I’m there every week: typically, I’ll leave $20 on $13-15 meals which means 20-30% gratuity. Today our nice waitress should have gotten $4 of my $20 vs $3, the difference being a surprise $1 charge for a tiny onion add to my grilled potato side; a surprise because NSB doesn’t! Point being, $1 is ridiculous, but if you’re going to up charge say so & give a proportionate amount of the condiment/spice (depending on who you ask). Why not charge $1 for scallions in egg tacos too? Again, said because I care. Snowbirds are gone, value your REPEAT...

So very glad AM Cafe opened up on US1. I ordered the Monte Cristo which was loaded with ham and not over powered with thick bread, and my husband ordered an omelet which was made with a thin layer of egg rather than the thick fluffy kind... our preference. Noticed they have an early bird menu with 5 choices for $5.00 from 6 to 8 a.m. Arrived after 8:00 so we ordered from full menu. Staff had smiles and very friendly. Two cooks in the kitchen and didn't have to wait very long at all for food. Nice assorted menu choices. Counter seating available if you don't mind sitting there where all the action take place. Absolutely hands down the worst experience trying to eat breakfast anywhere!!! I highly recommend avoiding at all cost!! Ordered eggs Benedict it was the sorriest plate of food I’ve had ever seen. The ham was burnt and the size of a pepperoni the eggs were just the yolks the sauce was clear and about a teaspoon worth piled up on a English muffin the size of a small dinner plate.. When we told the waitress we would rather have something else because of the quality she came back with the manager and said she didn’t want to serve us something else and that we had to pay for the meal or let her put more meat on it after they carried it around the restaurant for 10 min????? I have never heard of any restaurant...
