Idk who the server (who was actually the one training a new server) thought he was but I haven't been perturbed by someone in the service industry as much as that in a long time. We came in, ordered food and we openly had the Denver passport book out upon entry and it is the reason we decided to try this place in the first place. The deal is bogo entrees with purchase of a drink.
Food was average. Not anything to write home about. Warm saki bottle was small and kinda pricey for house saki.
All this no problem I would probably just not leave a review, but when we asked for the check Sam came over and we handed him the book and he retorted in a condescending was "I thought you guys smelled different" then walked away with the book.
Um, excuse me? I shouldn't even have to try but I can't find ANY way to interpret that other than offensive... like who says that to a stranger at all much less a patron. So when he came back I inquired as to what he meant and he stumbled around and had no answer and I pretty much without raising my voice lambasted him for his poor choice of words and reccomended he not speak to people like that because you never know who's going to take that offense too far. He didn't really apologize just tried to say he didn't mean anything by it I basically dropped it and we left......

We dined here as a group of six for lunch on New Year’s Day, and every single one of us was beyond pleased. One of our guests (my great Niece), who is from Thailand🇹🇭, was especially impressed with the authenticity and quality of the food—a high compliment in itself!
The Thai lemon tea was a standout for me—perfectly balanced in sweetness and so refreshing. We also enjoyed several dishes, including the Lamai Pad Thai, Crispy Chicken Khao Soi, Ka Pao (spicy basil), and Pad See Ew. Each dish was packed with flavor, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. We even had leftovers to take home.
The service was outstanding as well. Our waitress was incredibly attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Her and my great niece got to converse in their native language. 😊
I can’t wait to return to La Ma Thai and am also looking forward to visiting the owner’s other restaurant: Som Dee Thai. This is a spot you’ll want to add to your list if you’re in...
Read moreLa Mai Thai Kitchen near Sloan Lake in Denver is a hidden gem that offers an exceptional dining experience. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great place for both casual meals and special occasions.
We ordered the Drunken Noodles and Phat Kaphrao, and both dishes were outstanding. The Drunken Noodles had a rich and savory sauce, and the noodles had the ideal texture. The Phat Kaphrao, featuring minced meat with basil, was full of vibrant flavors and just the right amount heat for me being Thai, got Thai hot. The presentation was beautiful, with dishes garnished thoughtfully, adding to the overall dining experience. Just a heads up, the portion sizes are slightly larger than other Thai restaurants, but that is a plus in my book.
The service was friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu, I can really really appreciate our staff who cares.
Overall, La Mai Thai Kitchen is a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Thai cuisine. The delicious food, warm atmosphere, and excellent service make it a standout choice in the area. Highly recommended! Apologies only got...
