Tamale Kitchen — Restaurant in Edgewater

After 40 minutes waiting for a phone order (to-go), that was said to take 15-20 minutes. I finally see part of my order come out of the MICROWAVE. Getting irritated at this point I am watching for the rest of my order (5 breakfast burritos) to BEGIN getting prepared. At this point, the female cook drops the condiments for my order on the ground, she scoops up what fell out of the container and is told by the male cook, "don't worry about it". She then puts the container with the soiled food next to the rest of my order to get bagged up. When I bring this to the idiot managers attention, he says "It's ok, nothing came out of the container." At this point, I get irate and say don't call me a liar, I saw exactly what happened (all while the female cook is wiping the remaining off the floor) haha. Needless to say, I did not take this order from this place and will never go back!! I recommend that you do NOT either! Too bad this place is under such horrible management, because other Tamale Kitchens have such good service and food.

Side note: After all said and done, this container gets put back on the counter (by the manager)... so who knows who is eating this food that has been on the floor. If these employees do this in plain view of the customer, imagine what is done behind...

At first we were over charged by having extras added to our ticket. No biggie, we noticed it and they refunded that amount around 7:40PM. Come 8:40PM our food comes out, better be good with a wait this long. Oh wait, we're missing a kids beef taco meal, and the taco's carbon are not plural. Single as in single taco, we mention it and are told that's what we ordered, funny the chalk board shows a 3 WITH A CIRCLE around it. Needless to say, you need to check how much they charged you, then if you are willing to wait an hour for sub par food, check that they actually give you what you order. Good luck, after finding the other reviews, I seriously hope the family pulls the rights to this franchise. Its a mess and giving them one seriously bad name / image. Not something that you want for an established chain, the royalties cannot be worth the damage this place must be doing. Sad..

Oh yeah, when we went in, there was no one else there getting food. No one showed up until maybe 8:30ish. So why the heck did it take so long??? Horrible customer service. Unless that's your method of making...

It is unfortunate that this Tamale Kitchen is the closest to my house cause i love the food. That is the ONLY reason i gave this a 2. The customer service at this place is horrible. The girls up front are always rude and seem annoyed when you come in. Usually i look past it because the food is good and like i said, it's the closest to my house and work. Tonight when i came in with my kids it was 30 minutes to osing and they had every single chair up on the tables and i asked if they were open. The girl looked at me like she wanted to say they were osed. Then she proceeded to tell me rudely that they were only doing to go orders? Why? Seriously? So i had to eat my food outside in the cold with my kids because we weren't going home right that second. I was absolutely appalled. Maybe it wouldn't have made me so mad if their customer service wasn't horrible all the time. The male cooks are rude too. They are always giving people dirty looks. Seems like every one of these reviews is saying the same thing and the tamale kitchen hasn't changed a...
