Roberto's — Restaurant in Edgewater

They immediately greet you when you walk inside and make you feel right at home which I loved. I'm really surprised some reviewers said that the service wasn't great, I thought the service was outstanding. Immediately upon seating, they handed us menus and asked us if we wanted some drinks. My parents ordered some martinis and I had a glass of Sauv Blanc. On the specials menu it said that house bottles of wine were $25, which is pretty awesome! (My glass of Sauv Blanc was $9).

In addition to the great service, I loved how extensive their food menu was, so many options to choose from! In addition to their regular menu, they have a specials menu and additional specials on top of that. We started with their hot antipasto which came with little bits of just about everything on their hot appetizer menu (stuffed mushrooms, stuffed peppers, shrimp and artichoke hearts). Then for dinner we had a grilled shrimp special and a chicken special. (I wish we had ordered pasta as it said the pasta was homemade and looked pretty good, but I digress). My parents were very happy with everything and they're often very difficult to please! The owners mom came and chatted with us for a bit and the wait staff was very hospitable. It's a very cute, neighborhood like spot, that's not too expensive and have an adorable ambiance....

Horrible service isn't even the word. Waiters are very inattentive, in a rush and I guess if you're not a known customer, they just don't care. My experience here on a Saturday night was so bad that in just the first ten minutes of arriving, I was ready to leave. Despite my readiness to exit, I stayed and that was ONLY due to the guest in which I came with. As a lover of food and of course a lover of Italian food, but I would NOT suggest this restaurant to anyone that wants good service and an enjoyable time. Food was easily a 5/10. It took 20 minutes to have someone come to our table and another 20 minutes just to bring bread to the table. Our waiter did not ask if we wanted dessert. We ordered a bottle of wine and it wasn’t until 30 minutes later that one waiter finally realized we didn’t get our wine and delivered it to us. The staff is incredibly rude. With NYC being a short distance away, don't waste your time and money dining at this restaurant.

I just left the restaurant and wanted to write my review instantly. How disappointing. I came here for my birthday dinner and the server manny was awful. I’m not sure if he didn’t take care of us well because we were younger (mid 30s) compared to the other clientele. But I ordered a glass of wine with dinner and it never came. Then after we had our food boxed he said the wine is coming. I said forget it. Also took quite some time to get bread when asked as well as a Diet Coke When he dropped the check he didn’t even look at us. Basic customer service and so easy to drop a check and say thanks have a good night. He literally did not even look at us. Did not care at all. I can understand if he felt overwhelmed or had too many tables and didn’t know how to prioritize. But then you use your voice and you say something or ask for help.
