Incredibly disappointing. I wanted to love this place because I live 5 min. away. Such a great looking restaurant - amazing transformation from the previous place! But, let’s get into it: •the Coca Cola was awful. I told the bartender, he went back to shake the box (?), and the second one he served “looked a little darker” but still tasted like dark water - the bread. It looked promising, with the cute little dish of marinara on the side. The bread: stale and dry af. The sauce? Cold. But, I imagine they intended it to be. Just stuck me as odd. I had asked for butter, but no amount of butter made the bread edible. - the pasta. Pappardelle bolognese. First - it seemed to take much longer than it should have. The place was not crowded, and it’s pasta (fresh? homemade?)…it should take a very short time to cook. The bolognese? They’re not making that to order. It finally arrived, and something just looked off. You know how pasta is often finished in the sauce in the pan, and then topped with more sauce? The sauce on this pasta looked dried. The whipped ricotta didn’t look appetizing so I pushed it aside. I started digging into the pasta - some bites were lukewarm, some bites were hot. Definitely not consistent temperature throughout. I’d bet $100 that it was microwaved. It reminded me of microwaved leftover pasta like you’d eat at home two days after making it fresh. Did I eat it? Sure did. I was starving. The flavors were ok; but it wasn’t a deeply flavored bolognese like I was hoping for. The bartender never noticed or offered to refill my lousy Coke, until after I asked for the check. And, he had been right in front of me at the POS. He was perfectly amiable. I won’t go back. And, I have $75+ left on a gift card. I had read all the bad reviews of Mercato when it first opened, so I figured I’d give it some time to improve before I tried it. Unfortunately, it seems those improvements never happened.

We’re back on the hunt for great happy hours in the area. This spot offered a solid drink menu featuring cocktails and beer. We tried the sangria (made with red wine) and an espresso martini—subbing in Bluitt Bourbon for the traditional vodka. For our first round of food, we ordered calamari rings served with a tomato-based sauce. Personally, I prefer my calamari in crispy strips, so this preparation wasn’t quite my style. The garlic parmesan wings were crisp but lacked the creamy garlic parmesan sauce you’d typically expect. They were also slightly overcooked. The hot honey wings packed more heat than sweetness, which might appeal to some but wasn’t my preference. The mascarpone, pear, and prosciutto crostini was the standout—a well-balanced blend of savory, sweet, and salty. As for the pizza, both the Margherita and Meatball varieties were excellent. The bartenders were friendly and accommodating, especially considering how hot it was inside. It seemed like the AC wasn’t functioning, which made for an uncomfortable experience. In fact, we noticed another couple sit at the bar briefly before leaving. It took a few minutes for us to receive menus and place our drink orders. While the bar manager was making rounds with other guests, we weren’t approached. Honestly, if it hadn’t been for the bartenders, we probably would’ve left too. The one bartender let us try a shot of whipped cream whiskey used with the espresso martini. Also, he gave us limoncello shots to finish our meals. We’d consider returning in the fall—once the weather cools down. A restaurant without functioning air conditioning isn’t ideal, especially during a heat wave when guests are looking to unwind in comfort.

Quite a few of us had stomach pains all night and uncontrollable farts Had the following: Fried Artichokes - Zucchini puree, chili aioli and aged balsamic reduction. Excellent Fried Calamari -very small portion, not cooked long enough. Not good. Mussels in white - good. Grilled octopus- not cooked long enough would have been better charred. It was okay. Salad - not good had duck prosciutto which ruined the salad. Homemade Gnocchi Sorrentino - Fresh mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes and basil. Excellent = Gnocchi was cooked to perfection and sauce was delicious. Linguine Pescatore - Mussels, clams, shrimp, scallops, San Marzano sauce and served over linguini. It was just okay = seafood was not cooked long enough, pasta cooked to long and was sticky. Spaghetti and Fresh Clams - Cherry tomatoes, white wine garlic. Not good = white wine garlic sauce was missing something maybe parsley or garlic should have been sautéed. Spaghetti was cooked to long and was sticky. Everyone’s meals were half eaten and not brought home except for 2 people that got the Branzino specials they loved their meals. Mercato bellini delicious. Spicy margarita was absolutely disgusting. Other drinks were just okay. Service was good not great. Total bill with tip $645.00 for 7 people. I only posted the apps and meals that I personally tried. Overall for the price the quality was not good. Ambiance was great loved the decor.

Had a post funeral luncheon this past Saturday. Went to the main restaurant entrance and was greeted promptly and pleasantly by a young lady and a gentleman who directed me around the building to the catering entrance. Thanks for the mints for my journey. Really liked the separate more private entrance. Especially nice not to have to go through the main dining area. The private room was laid out beautifully, high ceilings very sunny. The buffet was presented very professionally. The food was delicious. My wife, her sisters, and mother picked a very traditional menu. Excellent chicken cutlet served parm style flavorful sausage and peppers. A baked ziti, a pretty mixed veg with seasonal cauliflower. The staff quickly responded to a vegan and non dairy request. A private bar was tucked into the corner. My wife's family was able to have a touching slide show of photos projected onto the back wall. But I have to be clear it was the service that truly made my experience and my tables experience fantastic. My wife 3 adult daughters and our guests loved the floating server, Corey. If you're catering a get together choose Mercato, location, parking, food, venue, etc all very very nice but request Corey. He brings the most joyous, professional, and just good vibes that I have ever seen. Thanks again to Mercato for providing a wonderful time after a dark few weeks and thank you to Corey for bringing a fantastic time for me, my family, and all the guest that had the pleasure of his service. How do you give more...
