Food is great, staff sometimes aren’t. The food is amazing, and well worth the short drive to this place, and the order process is extremely easy. At the door, there are small cards for the poke bowl menu. You grab one, and check the boxes for what you want. Size, protein, sauce, toppings, etc. If you want to make modifications, or special requests, every time I’ve done so, the staff have had a very difficult time understanding what I want. As an example, I simply asked for a small bowl of extra rice, and they said no. I said I was happy to pay full price, even though I wasn’t getting toppings, and they seemingly couldn’t comprehend this. It took me five minutes to simply explain that yes, I wanted plain rice. It is however, very important that I note the fact that I’ve only had difficulties like this a few times out of the dozens of time I’ve been here. If you don’t want modifications, then it’s great! Food is delicious, and wait time is minimal. I’d recommend...
Read moreThe concept of poké bowls are not new, however they are few and far between here in the twin cities without going to a sushi bar. If you haven't had a poké bowl, I would describe it as a deconstructed sushi roll. They also have ramen and other Japanese style appetizers beyond the poké. This is a little place with big flavors and fits into the category of casual fast dining. The service was friendly as well.
I created my own bowl with seasoned tuna, seaweed salad, spicy crab salad, edamame, and sushi egg with the ginger yuzu and spicy mayo. It exceeded my expectations and reasonably priced. I wish I took a picture to show, but ended up eating it before I thought about writing this review. If you like sushi and haven't tried a poké bowl, I recommend giving this place a try. I will return to try their...
Read moreI arrived in the mid-afternoon one day and inquired as to the type of gloves they use in the kitchen. They use latex gloves, and I am allergic to latex, so I was unable to eat there. Since there was no line and it was the owner who was behind the counter, I suggested he look into using other types of gloves. I explained that many people are latex sensitive and unaware of it, as each exposure to latex sensitizes you a little bit more, and people who don't know will think they've just gotten food poisoning.
The owner was insistent that all the other sushi places in town use latex (hint: they don't) and was completely unwilling to even look into using non-latex gloves.
My husband has been there, and said the food was good, but won't be returning since the owner was rude and...
