Armando's Pizza — Restaurant in Edinburg

I’m only ratting the place 1 star because how rude either the owner or some type of management was. My wife put in the order online and I was to just pick it up, wife told me it was in my name first and last (cause this is the valley and there’s a lot of Christians). I was immediately greeted by a professionally dressed elderly female and she asked me if I was there for a pick up. I said “Yes mam” she asked the same question again “yes mam under Christian” and she responded “with who?l This threw me off as I didn’t initially understand the question. She saw my confusion and said “grubhub” I said “Yes” and again repeated my name. She then said in a dismissive tone and gesture “I don’t understand you”. I apologized and she looked at me puzzlingly made a very disgusted gesture that one of her staff saw and quickly got my order confirmed the name and order with me. She then said “your order is ready” several times and I stood there waiting for my order and she kept repeating that. I said “Yes mam I’ll take it I’m not refusing the order” She said again “I don’t understand you while waving her hand dismissively and turning her back at the same time” No longer was I respectful and informed her poor attitude, service and demeanor. She smiled regaining her service demeanor apologizing stating she was only like that as she coolant understand me. I refused the apology as her poor aptitude to compose herself during a simple language barrier incident was disgusting. Props to the staff tho for being real ones. Food was really...

Went there for the first time this evening, around 6 pm on a Thursday. We were greeted and took a seat. Immediately you'll notice the home-made decor and neat paintings lining one of the walls. It has a very home-y feel and it's overall very welcoming.

We started off with the appetizer mix and holy moly I don't think I've ever been treated to so many different appetizers all at once. They were all perfectly cooked and tasted wonderful. The wings were probably my favorite but the onion rings were a very close contender.

My main dish was a large vegetable calzone. I advise you all, if you get an appetizer, don't get a large calzone. They are not kidding about the size. Not saying it's a bad thing since I knew what I was getting into, but be careful.

Overall the food was great, the wait staff is very attentive and speedy, and overall they really care about the food they put out.

If I could give 6 stars I would, that’s how amazing this pizza is. I ordered a large pepperoni for 13 bucks and it was DELICIOUS. Reminds me of this authentic Italian pizza place my Mom used to take me too in Victoria, TX, thin crust for the perfect bite. I like to toast mine a little extra in the stove when I get home for an extra crunch, and it was PERFECT, Pizza Hut or Dominos can’t compete. I feel that everything is reasonably priced for the quality and size of pizza you are getting. This will be my new go-to pizza place from here on out, I live right around the corner from all major chain pizza places and Armando’s tops them all, even better than Peter Piper, and Papa John’s.
