Quick Seating and Prompt Service, Mixed Thali Experience I recently dined at Kesar's Indian Thali, and I must say, it was a bit of a mixed experience. On the positive side, the restaurant managed to impress with its efficiency. We were seated within a mere 5 minutes of our arrival, which is quite impressive for a busy evening. The service was prompt, and the staff greeted us warmly, setting a welcoming tone for the meal. They were attentive throughout, making sure we had everything we needed. Now, let's get to the heart of the matter - the food. They offer a variety of thali options, and we decided to try both the Punjabi and Kathiyawadi Thali to get a taste of different regional cuisines. Unfortunately, the Kathiyawadi Thali didn't quite hit the mark for me. The vegetables in this thali had very mild flavors, which didn't appeal to my palate. The Bajra roti served with it was quite thick and had an overwhelming taste of flour, which was a letdown. On the flip side, the Punjabi Thali was a saving grace. The vegetables in this thali were flavorful and delicious. The variety of dishes and the combination of spices worked well together, providing a satisfying experience. Overall, my visit to Kesar's was a mixed bag. While the quick seating and attentive service were commendable, the food experience was a bit of a hit and miss. If you're looking for a variety of Indian thalis, the Punjabi Thali here might be a safe bet. However, for those seeking a more authentic Kathiyawadi experience, you might want to explore...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Kesar Restaurant in Edison, and it was an absolute delight for the taste buds. This charming establishment specializes in Indian cuisine, and it left a lasting impression.
The highlight of my visit was the Chaat Thali, a true explosion of flavors and textures. This platter offered an exquisite selection of various chaat items, each prepared to perfection. From crispy bhel puri to tangy pani puri, every bite was a burst of authentic Indian street food goodness. It was an adventure for the senses, and I loved every moment of it.
Equally impressive was the Amritsari Thali. The rich and aromatic flavors of the Punjabi cuisine shone through in this delectable spread. The buttery naan, flavorful dal makhani, and perfectly spiced sabzi were an absolute treat. It was a wholesome and satisfying meal that left me craving for more.
To complement these delicious dishes, I tried their buttermilk, and it was simply divine. Creamy, refreshing, and expertly spiced, it was the ideal accompaniment to the flavorful thalis. It was evident that Kesar Restaurant pays great attention to even the smallest details of their culinary offerings. It's a culinary journey that I...
Read moreThis was our first experience at Kesar’s Edison, we were just two and we just ordered a total of 4 dishes, for the last dish in our order, Nitin K the person who took the order repeated the dish thrice to confirm - clearly he was not present enough - the dish never came. It didn’t matter much to us on the overall grand scheme of things or to mandate a review as the food quality was our priority, quite honestly the Vegetable Jalfrezi - a hopeless attempt to mix cauliflower, carrot, broccoli !😀 and tomato… the Tandoori Roti clearly a rejection - very dry and overcooked to ashes….the Paratha was bearable - that’s it. Rice was served along but we didn’t know what to do with it ? Mix and eat with Roti or the infamous collage called Veg Jalfrezi ! Our apologies that we had to waste the white rice especially now with the export ban in effect, this part of the experience remains to be a painful pinch. We will not repeat a visit as it’s clear that Kesar’s Edison is a reckless mass market food hub with scant regards to service, needs and...
