Where to begin…holy moly was our experience top notch! We walked in and were met with a cheerful hello and they asked if we were celebrating anything. We told the lovely lady that we were celebrating an anniversary, but it was in January because life and kids happen. We were seated and Roy took over helping us out. We had already scoped the menu out and knew what we wanted.Throughout the meal, Roy and my husband and I talked about our love of food, growing herbs and how we each love to cook. He really knew the menu and explained each entree we picked out to us. He knew his stuff, from the drinks we ordered to each item we chose.
The drinks were delicious (Berry Everything and the Bruleed Peach Old Fashioned.) We started out with the Too Much Potato with the added bacon and cheese. Ok first off, there is never too much potato EVER! I shared this dish with my husband, but I could have ordered a second plate of it, so I didn’t have to share. What an incredible dish, I just can’t put into words how mouth watering that dish was! We took two pictures of our meal, because after the potato goodness, I forgot to take pictures. Instead, I clapped and danced in my seat with excitement for the next entree. I had the peach salad and it was so good. I’m not one to order fruit in my salad, but man oh man, the peach and goat cheese pair well together and with the arugula and vinaigrette!
Now for the main event! I had the Brisket Stroganoff 🤤 I was dancing in my seat most of time eating this! My goodness, the noodles were made in house, perfect amount of mushrooms and cream sauce, to my noodles. My gosh, the brisket was fork tender!! I did share a little bit with my husband, but only 4 bites, the rest, I devoured! My husband had Coq Au Vin and he really enjoyed it. Both my husband and I are food snobs and we can count maybe 8 times (in 20 years) that we have been blown away by our meals and this is one restaurant from start to finish, was incredibly delicious!
Now for the desserts, we ordered two because we couldn’t decide. I order the cornbread cake and my husband ordered the peaches and cream. Holy moly were they both incredibly good!!! The peaches were a little tart and sweet and the cream was delicious and they had this crumble that pulled the dessert together beautifully! Oh my gosh the corn bread cake (I’m still dancing!) It’s one of those desserts that sounds unusual and so freaking good!
Please go and support this local restaurant, you won’t regret it. I love that they source local farmers (I grew up on my grandparents farm) and when I found this out, it made me happy. The music wasn’t loud, I danced in my seat with excitement, and left feeling happy and full! I’m already planning two more visits soon and not in 6 months either. I’m looking forward to trying out each...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at Farmers Grain Kitchen + Cellar, a charming restaurant nestled in the heart of downtown Edmond known for its tantalizing menu. The moment you step inside, you're met with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Soft lighting and tasteful decor create an intimate space perfect for both casual and special occasions.
The real star, of course, is the food. They offer an eclectic menu that caters to various palates, ensuring that every guest finds something that delights their taste buds. I started off with their famous Bread + Tallow which had the perfect balance of tanginess and creaminess, garnished with a drizzle of chive and chili oil that elevated the flavors to new heights.
The main course was a testament to the culinary skills of the chef. The Pasta Au Poivre was cooked to perfection, with tender Prime Beef and hand made Egg Pasta that just melted in your mouth. Accompanied by a roasted garlic and peppercorn sauce that complemented the Prime Beef excellently without overwhelming its natural flavor.
Dessert was an indulgent Lemon Chess Pie with Meringue Cookies, Black Tea Cardamom Honey it was the epitome of decadent satisfaction, ending the meal on a wonderfully sweet note.
The staff were attentive and courteous, always available when needed without being intrusive. They exhibited a comprehensive knowledge of the menu, aiding us in our selection with helpful suggestions.
The pricing reflects the quality of the food and dining experience, which is reasonable considering the high standards upheld by the restaurant. While it's not the cheapest option around, you certainly get what you pay for in terms of the quality and presentation of the dishes.
In conclusion, Farmers Grain Kitchen + Cellar is a jewel in the local dining scene, offering an array of delicious dishes that are sure to impress. Whether you're planning a romantic dinner or a gathering with friends, this restaurant promises an unforgettable gastronomic experience. I'm already planning my next visit to explore more of their...
Read moreWe have wanted to try this restaurant for the last year and finally made it! We had a babysitter and celebrating an anniversary. The cocktails and salmon appetizer was wonderful. I asked for us to share the peach salad with goat cheese and they split it on 2 plates (that they charged us $2 extra, a heads up would have been nice!) but it was a lot of arugula, and a small amount of a peach that you had to cut yourself, and about 1 tsp of goat cheese on each plate. We definitely felt $14 (actually spent $16) was overpriced for what we got. The dinners were amazing. I loved the salmon, the risotto was to die for, loved the peppers and cilantro, which added a nice contrast. My husband's steak was also good, but I didn't think it was as flavorful of a dish. We also asked for the peaches and cream dessert, which they did not split for us. Again overpriced. There was 1 peach cut in half with a little cream sauce and crumbled cookies; the cream was only on one side of this long dish which made it awkward for one of us to reach over half way across the table to partake of it. We were served it with 2 spoons which we assumed that meant the peaches were really tender but it was difficult to portion bite sizes with a spoon. So I requested forks and knives, which they brought 2 forks and 1 knife, apparently they didn't think we both needed a knife, so we each cut up our half of the peach into bite sized pieces; maybe the peaches are usually cooked more or the peach is more tender prior to cooking, not sure why a spoon would be recommended when you need to cut up a fruit that definitely is not tender enough for only a spoon. Also, I would have loved to try the bread plate but the price seemed very expensive, so we decided on salmon appetizer served on the bread. Overall the staff was really nice and generally informative, although not totally since we had the $2 surprise on the bill. We would like to try the restaurant again, but focus on the appetizer, meal and drinks (skip the...
