I HATE, HATE, HATEEE how I don't have any pictures of the food here by themselves because every picture I have of the food has my adorable girlfriend in the background, maybe I drank my drinks too fast and just didn't take a second to take a picture of what I was gonna devour in a mere matter of seconds lol but please read this. This PubW location has been my favorite ever since I had moved to UCO and here is why.
Staff: The staff here has treated me consistently with the upmost respect and hospitality every single time. The friendly staff that greet you as soon as you first walk in, the waiters that take your orders and the people who bring the food out to you all have the same personality across the board. Friendliness tone, helpful suggestions and wonderful vibes are all they know and it speaks high volumes. The managers are always so down to earth, bubbly and so easy to talk to, including Natalie who helped me with a transaction trying to get disputed for a little while and to the other manager working that same Saturday that helped me with some miscommunication I had with the waitress that helped us with the appetizers. I am not sure what other place has the same amount of dependability as far as meeting the team leads or higher ups like this place.
Availability: There is almost always immediate seating, and I have came here both for dinner on a weekday and weekend. These people know how to prioritize speed while also giving you privacy without the harassment of feeling rushed to leave right away.
Food: are you kidding me? A custom pretzel burger with a sunny side up egg, crispy fried onions, spicy aioli sauce, lettuce and American cheese with the oh-so-good fries is my order. When I say every time, I mean every-single-time. They have always cooked the patty to perfection, the crispy fried onions are always crispy and never stale, the fries are always a hit and so fresh and ready, and the drinks are to die for. Handcrafted in a way where you can't even begin to compare other restaurants. The bartenders and the kitchen preps do not get enough rep for this and they truly deserve it.
Atmosphere: The TV's are always on with plenty of entertainment provided such as athletic sports, news or live shows. The walls are filled with amazing art and minimal/vintage decor. The floors are always maintained, the tables and seating is always so sparkly and cleaned, hence the "immediate seating" sign. Wonderful job for those who care about the look of the environment and cleanliness.
Overall: This restaurant is a staple to me and I will never stop recommending it to friends, family and colleagues. You have to try this place for yourself because if you are looking for a friendly and ambient environment, amazing experience with the staff and fresh food to be served, you are looking at the right location. Me and my girlfriend have came here several times and have not had a single major issue, therefore we will always love and cherish this restaurant. Bring your date, bring your friends, bring your family and look forward to walking in and out a satisfied customer because that is just what this place is. Thank you to all of the staff that always takes care of me and my girlfriend, keep up the good work. I don't know any awards that this restaurant has obtained, but whatever they can get to be recognized, I sure hope they receive it sooner than later. Kudos to everyone at this location and thank you all for being my official happy...
Read moreWe’ve been treated better at Waffle House. I am utterly disappointed in the abrupt change in service my friends and I received tonight. We’ve been long time, loyal customers of this specific restaurant, gathering once a week (at least) for the past nearly two years, to touch base with each other while enjoying wonderfully prepared food. Our group ranges from 3-10, but usually about 4-5 people. We know the drill, trickling in at the end of the night - kitchen closes at 10 pm. We order, eat, chair, treat everyone well…I personally tip between 30-40% knowing we are keeping the server late. A small thank you for serving us. We are out the door around 10:30-10:45.
As usual, we came in and ordered. Got our food around 9:55. A little abrupt, but the server set down our tickets at 10:10 pm. At 10:15, while we were still eating came over and demanded we pay right then. One member of our group was still eating said she didn’t want to pay just yet because she was paying with cash and didn’t want to touch it because money is dirty. The server loudly sighed and said “No worries.” Lights went bright and TVs went off at 10:17 pm. We clearly understood the passive aggressive message - we were no longer welcome. Get out!
This location should not have agreed to seat us at 9:30 if that was the intent. “The restaurant closes at 10.” We were told. I asked what time does the kitchen closes? I was told 10pm. “Everything closed at 10pm.” When I asked, “If the kitchen closes at 10, why would you allow anyone to order just to tell them leave without letting them enjoy their food?” We were told “I’m sorry. But we close at 10.”
We paid good money during this visit and over the course of two years to be treated like this. I used to speak highly of this location and chain, not anymore. There are too many other options to chose from to willfully choose to be treated like this again. If they want to go home so badly, close at 10 pm but do your guests the decency of not seat tables after 9 pm and stop telling people the kitchen closes at 10 when yall want to be gone by 10:01pm.

Read moreI am having to drop my 5 star rating down to 3 because of what happened yesterday. I ordered the fried chicken, which was good - even cold. However, the reason it was cold is because I had to go back th Pub W to get the Balsamic glaze that goes on the wedge salad. This is the second time I have had to do this and it is SO frustrating. I thought the first time that it happens even though it shouldn't. In fact, I forgot all about it until yesterday. So I had to fight the traffic I hoped to avoid to go back to pick up the glaze. They did have it at the host stand when I got there, which is what I asked for. (I had to wait for someone to go get it the last time had to go back) After I got home and my wife was getting ready to eat, she noticed the glaze was as thick as tar. A fork could easily stand up in it. We have never seen it look like that. I had a feeling it was done on purpose but, of course we will never know. I probably would not have even written about this individual experience except that for the last year or so we have been disappointed in the changes at the restaurant. For example, they changed to having gravy only on Friday - Sunday. It's really good gravy and it makes the meal. And now they have gotten rid of the chicken fried steak from the menu. There are other things that have changed that I don't like but I am only 1 customer and I'm sure their manager (maybe new manager) doesn't know that these things can have an impact over time. Sure, they can make decisions that help the business make money but it will be hard to do that if they lose all their customers. I will give them another try someday to see how they do. But for now, Pub W is not on my list...
